This one has been bugging me since yesterday, especially because the Illinois fans we came across were super nice.
The stadium booed LOUD when we had a player go down at the end of regulation, like he was trying to get a free timeout when they were on offense. The clock did stop for the injury but started up again on the ready to play whistle. It was right before their last punt, so I don’t know what they could have thought we would gain with that.
Compare that to the game tying touchdown pass. They had too many on the field. As one is running off, he literally just took a dive right before the ball was snapped trying to get an injury timeout. We scored, so no harm no foul, but the juxtaposition was rough for me. Left a real sour taste.
