I get it, you have an irrational hatred of Florida that causes you to want to draw arbitrary timeframes so you can compare their covid cases/ deaths unfavorably to other states, countries, continents.
I assume those timeframes will leave out this winter when the north sees a winter surge.

An island is defined as a mass of land surrounded by water that's smaller than a continent, and Australia is a continent so by definition can't be an island.
The Island of Australia is roughly coterminous with the nation of Australia (excluding a few other islands, notably Tasmania). The continent of Australia - that is, all the land that sits on the same continental plate - encompasses more land, including New Guinea, Tasmania, and various other islands.
