These were Archie’s last 3 years of offensive efficiency at Dayton. Sorry folks but this is what he’s doing at IU against much stiffer competition. You shouldn’t be surprised. Did Crean ever improve his defense in 9 year? No

We must be patient . You do not know what he inherited. It takes time to build a culture. He needs four years minimum with his own recruits. The expectations at IU are unrealistic. It is not Arhie's fault the kids do not play hard. Archie cannot make the shots for them. IU fans are mean and nasty.

His last two years at Dayton (HIS RECRUIT) produced a 146 and 53, that’s not concerning seriously.

Sorry if I was being confusing those numbers were Archie’s last 3 years at DAYTON not IU

crean did not but creaner also never made the tourney four years in a row...here or at marquette. so probably worth it to give archie a couple more years.

or point us to the coach who is top 30 offense and defense regularly who will leave his current job for IU's bag of money. point him out and we'll start pining for him i promise.

Chris Mack was we screwed up well Fred did

The point? Well Chris Holtmans were 64,15,20. My point is Archie has never had a top 30 offense even his elite eight year, that doesn’t concern you at all. You must have thought Crean would just all of sudden have too 30 defenses.....
Oh cool an analytics expert ..

I have some questions.

  • Did Miller's team shoot a lot of transition 3's above the FT line?
    • How does this affect off and def efficiency?

  • Did his teams crash offensive boards?
    • How does this affect off and def efficiency?

  • Did his teams create offense through a high amount of steals?
    • How does this affect off and def efficiency?

  • What was the pure PPP number not the SOS adjusted?
  • and what was the relative SOS for those seasons?
    • How do these affect kenpom off and def efficiency?

  • Is there a direct correlation between high talent level and overall efficiency or is it purely relative to coaching only?

and yes, Crean did have 30 plus defenses. 3 times. 30, 21, 19 are his highs.

  • Does that make Crean a good defensive coach?

How about this if Archie doesn’t produce a top 40 offense over the next two season you will get the f—k off this website!!! Deal

who cares as long as we're winning? and you'll have plenty of company if we don't start winning. be patient, grasshopper. we'll either lose and get a new coach in a couple years or we'll win and we can all forget we had these awful conversations. lol

Crean had a top 30 defense ONE time at Indiana ranked 19th....why would I consider Marquette idiot

For me the jury is still out on Archie, but consider that he never even landed a 4 star recruit. All 2 and 3 star.

Your ego is not handling this well. You’ve been wrong so many times in a row I’m starting to feel bad for you.

Louisville has a 13 offense a continuation of what Mack did at Xavier.....must be all his top recruits

Hey I agree with you, we should have went after him instead. That's on Glass. But I don't think it's totally fair comparing the 2 straight up. Mack brought in more talent at X and inherited more talent at Louisville.
Something has changed with this team, we weren't this bad 2 months ago.

But he also played in a major conference not the pathetic Atlantic 10 home of LaSalle and St Bonaventure

Because you won’t win tourney without a top 20 offense that’s a fact go look it up

You live in a fantasy land Coach Dunning Kruger.

I don’t care about your stupid questions the bottom line is who was the last ncaa champ with a sub 30 offense....your a child btw

* "you're"

lol ...

Okay sub-idiot, it's obvious you're as ignorant as Coach Dunning Kruger and just want to publicly cry and soothe your self inflicted butt hurt.

You guys are just like Trumptards, talking crap about something you don't even have the basic fundamental knowledge of.

inherited more talent at UL?
Their only well-known player Mack inherited was VJ King...who has not panned out well for them.

I don’t care how the Ken Pom number is created the bottom line is if the number is higher than 30 you don’t win the NCAA title. Now it all makes sense your a left wing nut!! Loserrrrrrrrrrr can’t wait till your socialists buddies hand Trump the 2020 election

Please make this stop!!!! lol
While I've gotten on you for being a serial optimist, some of these guys are the exact opposite, they're serial malcontents. which is far worse. Not only do they complain and loudly when we lose, but also complain when we win, and if they can't do that complain about things that haven't happened yet. I think they just like to whine and probably need a change and a hug.

LOL you ARE a trumptard!

I should have known with your 3rd grade literacy level and lack of fundamental understanding of basketball combined with a willingness to put that ignorance on full display.

So typical .. Another drooling slack jawed rube.

No need to get nasty...

We all knew CAM was a defensive minded coach. We knew he would struggle with offense like CTC struggled with defense. We just hoped CAM wouldn’t struggle as much... but dozens of long scoring droughts later, here we are.

15, 15 and 20.

Those are Sean Miller's last three years at Arizona.

No one says Archie is going to be Sean but...same dad, same mentor in Thad Matta, coached on the same staff at Arizona.

Guess what...Mack is part of the Sean Miller tree, and Archie was much higher regarded as a coaching prospect.

It's like pointing to Cam Reddish and bitching that we settled on Romeo instead.

You forgot Romeo is a cancer, we have bad chemistry, and no leaders. Next year after we lose our two best players, whoops I mean Morgan and Cancer, we will be much improved.

After the Maryland game before the chemistry issues reared their ugly head. We were in the 30s in offense and 20s in defense. IIRC reaching a high of 19 in each at one point in the season and lowest in each being low 30's (until Maryland). Including being top 4 nationally in 2pt FG%, and top 8 in EFG%. Since the maryland game we have dropped 40+ spots in offense.

I know you see it because you, unlike these fools, know basketball. Something happened after that game and the team has been dysfunctional since. This isn't an offense defense issue, it's a chemistry and player management issue.

Coach lost this team and there is obvious disgruntlement among the players. Much like this board there is a malcontent or a few on the team. Just as Mrs Williams' tweet and Fishers transfer before it showed us that there was a disruptive personality on that team. Mr Smith's tweets combined with Justin's play and then Devonte's suspension, may be showing the same about this one.

This gives Arch an F for the season because it's his job to recruit the right kids, motivate and manage them. and he's failing. If this is the case, he needs to take control and kick some ass or it will extend into next season.

I actually find it interesting to watch him go through the worst of seasons and seeing how he responds. This next few months into next year will tell us a lot about him. The losing kinda sucks though .. but one season does not a coach make.

I brought this up before: remember the two Cor(e)y's that tore Nova apart and convinced Wright to recruit character over stars? Maybe Archie needs to learn the same lesson.

Good news though, TO's are down. lol..........
