5 coaches to keep on the radar

I bet RMK would have loved the OSU job, but wasn't the right time. I bet Dusty May would have loved the IU job, but it wasn't the right time (actually it was). I bet Brad Stevens would have liked the IU job, but it wasn't the right time (actually it was). Thad Matta probably wanted the IU job back in day pre OSU, but it wasn't the right time (actually it was).
Oh Thad wanted it. But keeping Davis another year because Marco was coming was more important at the time.

You wanna hire a guy who has been in the ACC 14 years and is 128-126 in the league? What results are you expecting? Woodson could probably do that.
He has taken Clemson to the final four. Woodson could only dream what a final four is. He also has built three programs from the bottom up and taken all 3 to the tournament.

And you would want Brownell gone after rhe seasons he has had at Clemson on different years. Just sayin?

Better than Woodson, without question. There are probably 30 other candidates better than Brownell though.

I do not see where he took a team to the FF. He is an average coach in the ACC with a .500 win / loss percentage in league play and .600 +/- overall. Not the profile or upside we want in our next coach - IMO. Weird that he would be a candidate anyone would pound the table over - becasue he is from Indiana? He is probably not a bad guy and is a good coach - he has proven that much. But 17-16, 23-11 and 24-12 the last 3 season is Woodson level stuff. In 14 years he has finished no higher than tied for third in the ACC and he did that one time. He has made 4 NCAA tournaments in 14 years at Clemson. What would be expect at IU?

I just want to win. Win ugly? Fine with me. Just win. Recruits that fit the system will come and win. I would kill for the last 20+ years Wisconsin has had in basketball versus IU. Sad to say. Very sad.

Do I want to be Wisconsin? Not really, but I would swapped records and teams with them over that past 20 years hands down.

His last 4 years he is 72-40 again at Clemson not Indiana where he would have NIL and alot better players.

I don't think he would ever have a bad season at Indiana. The talent he would have at Indiana plus winning at three different places has me sold. Now would I rather have Bruce Pearl or Chris Beard yes but he is in the next tier.

I don't know about 30 you could argue 20 but besides Pearl or Beard we have to be reasonable that the next coach is in that mix of a Brownell type or Porter Moser type has won with no talent and has did at mutiple places. Archie did it at one place my criteria I want a guy who has did it at mutiple places. Also personality matters you have get Indiana.

The guy knows what he's doing. He's at D2. He wins big. Why not?

Jim Crutchfield
Plays a very fun style too. They win games by putting up points. I love watching their games online and Jim is a big time winner and program builder. Him and Josh Schertz have been very successful on the D2 level. These are the type of coaches IU fans should be clamoring for.
