Geronimo will absolutely start at the wing, but as he fills out, there's no reason why he couldn't transition down low and bang a little bit.
Joe Wieskamp was Iowa's starting four at 6'6. Illinois started four guards last year and Colburn. Penn State didn't start a player over 6'9 and had two players at 6'6. Nebraska started four guards. Minnesota played 3 players over 6'9. Michigan player four players over 6'8 and Livers was 6'7. Maryland played two guys over 6'9 and two other players over 6'7. Michigan State didn't play a single player over 6'8. Hell, even Purdue only played four players over 6'7, and one was Eastern.
You need to have players that can guard the stretch four and get out when needed. We were to big last year and it showed. We don't need to get bigger because we've already got the size that we need. There's no reason why Trace, Race, Brunk and when needed Hunter can't handle the paint. And then over time, Geronimo, when he gets in the weight room and gains some mass, should be able to go down there and bang when needed.
Again, it's time to have the other team match up to what we do and not have us match up to them. He proactive and not reactive.
