4th Quarter: did Michigan figure out our offense?

One could say the whole second half. But the 4th Q was particularly bad on offense. Weird, because I felt like we could have had 24 in the 1st half if one or two plays go our way.

For those who might know the game better, or who have rewatched (I had to watch on my phone), was Michigan doing anything differently? Pressing our WRs more? Blitzing more often? Or was it just fatigue and talent showing through?

Ladies play Harvard tonight. We played very poorly, Moren was not happy, against a less strong roster in Brown last Monday. We won but it should not have been as close.
I suspect Harvard is also not a strong roster making this a chance to improve.
Lex and Beau sat out injured without a timeline to play. Syd Fenn (Frosh) announced as a red shirt. Gives her a nice year for film study and she comes in next year with Maya (both 6’3”).
Syd Parish tweaked an ankle that seems a non issue. We will see if it becomes a nagging deal or not.
We have length but not great team speed. Shay or Lex maybe, but not a lot. We do not have a player of the year candidate and the big ten is very strong.
I think for us to be successful we will have to shoot the 3 very well, make very few mistakes, and play tenacious team defense.
Good luck ladies.

B1G Championship Tie Breaker Race

It's a slow day at the office. So I'm on one today.

Although we're going to crack the nuts and go undefeated and this is moot as to IU, I decided to check out where things stand in the conference championship tiebreakers because there's a decent chance it's going to get used. Also, the head-to-head one is obvious, so I'm going to move down to the Win % of common opponents because that's where the math is.

IU - Overall conference record of conference opponents so far. 16-29 or .359
Still to play: OSU (5-1) & PU (0-6)
Rooting for: Everyone we've beaten to get these numbers up.

OR - Overall conference record of conference opponents so far. 17-27 or .386 (this one surprised me)
Still to play: Wisc. (3-3) & Washington (3-4)

OSU - Overall conference record of conference opponents so far. 20-18 or .526 (also surprised me)
Still to play: NW, IU, & Mich.
Rooting for: them to lose

PSU: Overall conference record of conference opponents so far. 19-20 or .487
Still to play: PU (0-6), Minn. (4-3) & MD (1-5)
Rooting for: Whoever is playing Illinois, USC, Minnesota (except during the PSU game) and for MSU, Nebraska, & NW. Want to see these percentages flip.

Interesting to note that how favorably our schedule compares to Oregon's. Granted, they beat OSU already, but if their Wisconsin & OSU weeks were flipped, they'd be sitting at an opponent record of 15-29 or .341. So ours is going to bump up after we visit Columbus regardless and that's figured in.

I'll update this prior to the Bucket Game when it's going to be a much clearer picture.

OT

I never miss a BB game (sometimes on dvr though) and interestingly enough I have seen all of IU’s FB games this year.
Have been wondering since I haven’t heard it mentioned…..has there ever been a team that beat both the championship participants from the previous year?🥸
Probably not too many times historically that the opportunity even presented itself.

Ok, so who here reacted this way...?

Mich on 4th down last gasp to keep the drive alive and score.

receiver falls and ..the UM players celebrate what they think is a first down.

Intellectually you are pretty sure that he was short of the first down but he sort of bounces, reaches and second effort crosses.

My reaction as a forty plus year IU FB fan:

"God dammit

You know they are going to give them that

You just know it!!

God dammit"

If you you reacted this way, you are truly a seasoned IU fan

You are my people.

Stadium parking hacked?

My wife works for the IU chancellor and we got access to his tickets yesterday, but once we got into the parking lot they told us our barcode had already been scanned and kicked us out! We had to find our own parking several blocks from the stadium. If parking security has been compromised then I assume fake game tickets are being sold via a duplicate e-ticket barcode.

Anyone else have a similar problem?

Indiana Sect of State Under FBI Investigation

As first reported in the most recent edition of The Cheat Sheet, Indy Politics has learned that Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales is under federal investigation for alleged allegations of money laundering and violating the federal racketeering statute.

Our sources tell us this reportedly involves a local Mexican restaurant, which our sources tell us has served as a money laundering front for either the Mexican or Guatemalan drug cartels.

Morales’ connection to this has likely involved money laundering as a facilitator or connector. Now, exactly how he allegedly accomplished this is still unclear
...
This is not the only issue facing Morales; he has also been accused of allegedly using state property (e.g., e-mails) to raise money for his political campaign. We are also told that Secretary of State employees who received bonuses were “asked” to “donate” a portion of their check to his political campaign.

MI Post Game Note Highlights

• The 7-0 start in Big Ten play extends the best start to a conference slate and sets the record for most B1G wins in a single season in program history. IU won six games in 1967, 1987, 2020.

• Cignetti is 27-18 in his career in one-score games. He has won seven of his last nine and is 21-9 in his last 30 one-score games.

• The 10-game winning streak is the longest streak in program history. The previous record was eight consecutive games in the 1945 and 1967 seasons.

• Indiana improved to 7-0 at home to mark the most home win in program history.

Yes, per Kamala

But, not according to Polk County Sheriff Grady…

Starting at 4:30, begins the eye opener, at least to those who believe Joe and Kamala

- border is not secure, agents greet the illegalscoming across the border
- illegals are welcomed in and treated well
- illegals are given freebies, including Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), free travel, free housing, etc.

Fan experience with this new playoff system...

First of all, let me say off the bat I am rooting for us to be positioned as best we can in the new format. It's the way of the world today, like it or not.

That said, have you considered that if we lose by a FG to OSU, after the best season in our lives, this is the possible fan experience for the post season?

B1G C-ship at Lucas Oil--none (OSU vs Oregon)
1st round playoff and not hosting--only a select few will get tickets in the opposing team's stadium
Lose that and it's over--that was our bowl game. Win that and then we're talking--a week of fun in the sun at a quarterfinal bowl destination.

Not sure how I feel about this.

For the experienced gamblers out there

if you had a 1000 to win right at 500 k on a Hoosier national title. at what point would you start laying off money on the opponents? I'm thinking its go time with Ohio St. if we win that then it's a no brainer to make a large bet on Purdue plus the points. problem is I can't see us being favored in any playoff game. which means will have to bet against us on the money line which could be cost prohibitive. draft kings only offering a 6k payout right now . osu

Abortion

Watching this video got me thinking and maybe abortion has become a problem for Democrats.
Conventional wisdom has been that Abortion is a major problem for conservatives, but perhaps Democrats have focused way too much on it. Instead of Porter reflecting on all the issues her parties have, she’s telling a cringe story about her daughter that’s not even true. She lives in f#cking California, they have abortion, practically up to birth🤷🏻‍♂️

The Democrats need to shift away (some) from women/abortion and focus more on issues that affect all the different demographics leaving her party.
