He used to frequent “our sandwich place” in Nashville too.
Yes, the former owner, Larry Hawkins was Bob’s good buddy and had the restaurant all decorated in IU memorabilia except for one big wall photo of Bird’s ISU team. He always reserved the big round table around the corner partition for Bob’s privacy. The new owners have kept the IU motif, but have added a KY and PU table. It’s a good place for breakfast and I’ll get the fish sandwich for lunch. All IU fans should visit this Bob Knight shrine at least once in their lives. It’s located in the basement beneath the Nashville House eatery. Bob loved to eat and so do I.

Still TBA for game at MSU.

I was reading some comments on Facebook from fans about this game.
Someone mentioned it will be a tough game and others were laughing at the notion.
I know I’m not talking about the posters on here but a lot of new fans that have decided to join this ride have it in their heads that we have turned into Ohio State overnight.
Another said we own the Big Ten now 🤦‍♂️ I’ve been going to games for over 50 years and I’m enjoying the hell out of this but let’s not get too carried away with the crazy talk.
Again,I know I’m not talking about y’all on here,we have a good bunch of posters on here.
We have been through a lot of lean years,I think something big is in the works this year and beyond.

I get it, but just as relevant as Bon Jovi, which some here really like. When the White Sox adopted Don't Stop Believing in 2004, people ate it up. The St Louis Blues somehow landed on Gloria by Laura Branigan and it caught fire and carried them to a Stanley Cup.

Yeah, I'm probably a soft no on Bon Jovi too, but I get it, others are allowed to like music I don't.

We tried Don't Stop Believin, and it got some traction, but they didn't keep it going.

Tough to find one that will make everyone happy.

Musk

It's almost like they think he is really is Hitler or Bin Laden.
No, people think he wants a retribution tour, because HE SAID IT.

People think he wants to use the military against political opponents, "the enemy within", because HE SAID IT.

His supporters argued that the enemy within meant violent street protesters. But then when Trump was asked who he meant by the term the enemy within, he named Adam Schiff, Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Mark Milley, and others who are politically against him.

Some Thoughts On Our Whosiers

This UW game always worried me. Felt trap’ish. But with Rourke out I don’t feel the same way. Everyone will give that 5% more to make up for it.
I had this thought that one of the talking points at the end of the game will end up being that the defense took the challenge to protect Jackson seriously, and gave him favorable field positions, didn't give up a ton of points, etc...

That would be a very Cignetti like solution and approach to having a backup leading the team out of the tunnel for the first time. If everyone else does their job, he'll be fine.

You can mix in a lot of different songs that every generation will enjoy. The Boston Red Sox work in Neil Diamond with Dropkick Murphys. It can all work great if done correctly.
Exactly.

Everyone knows Creed sucks...but last year the Texas Rangers weird schtick got the whole town back on the Creed bandwagon. :)

In fact, another 4th Quarter nominee.
  • Guitar Riff
  • Uplifting chorus
  • Cheezy in a way students would dig
Downside is the chorus takes a while to get to.

Yeah, mark me down as a soft no on the Speedwagon. Heh.

Some Thoughts On Our Whosiers

1. I can’t believe how many podcast shows are related to Nebraska. And they are all in shock for the same reason - they still thought we were “just Indiana.” No real respect. They bought the rat poison about the Nebraska defense being the end of the New Indiana. The stats about our offense and our defense did not get through to the brains that still think the past plays on Saturday. “Indiana has the worst historical record.” OK. How you like us now? Cig has taken a bunch of guys that NO talking head knew about last year and made them the biggest threat to the old status quo since NIL and The Portal were imagined. He had faith in and respect for the “little guys” - the Unknowns - and turned them into The Whosiers - kids now taking the norm by storm! The Cardiac Kids.2. Another Indiana team that ain’t supposed to be here.

2. Test 1 was win at UCLA - the “historical” power. Passed. Test 2 was Maryland - the up-and-coming coach who could recruit. Passed. Test 3 - keep NW from getting off the mat at NWHS stadium. Passed. Test 4 - survive the vaunted Nebraska defense. Passed 56 times. Who are these guys? These New Whosiers? Test 5 - beat Washington, who went big with our guys, and beat a No. 10 Michigan … but we gotta win with a back up QB. Challenge accepted. See ya at the yard.

3. Prepare thyself - the Rat Poison this week will double.
The next test is how do we play with Jackson, for an entire game.

Best guess is we'll be fine this weekend. Another big atmosphere, Gameday, we obviously played our best football this past weekend for a similar atmosphere... Washington obviously has a lot of talent, but like Nebraska and UCLA, it doesn't seem like they'll be good enough to actually beat IU.

I think the game at MSU got quite a lot more iffy with Rourke going down. That'll be a tough environment, and if there are cracks in the facade with Jackson as QB, those will show more on the road, in a tough environment like Spartan Stadium can be. It's also looking like Smith has them playing better football of late.

I think with Jackson there could be some more inconsistency with decisions and throws. Might be difficult for him to get in sync with guys like Sarratt on those back shoulder throws Rourke is killing everyone with. But, he does add a more effective runner to the RPO stuff, and he throws a pretty good deep ball overall.

This thread reveals once again that we have some OLD and out of touch posters on here when it comes to finding music that is appealing to a variety of tastes and generations.
