Harris vs. Trump 2024

And the early numbers out of NC, GA, AZ, NV, etc have been disastrous for Dems. PA looking excellent.

I'm genuinely curious...

Explain to me why these PA numbers are noteworthy?

GOP 12,900
Dem 8500

So +4400 GOP ballot requests to subtract from the current Dem lead of 1,063,834- 546,298 in ballot requests? And gaining 2.2% on the 578,883- 253,765 the Dems have in ballots returned?

It's an OK day for the GOP, but both parties have had the ability to request/return ballots for the same numbers of days and somehow the Dems have managed to more than double the % of the returned vote at 63% -27.6%. Most Dem early vote analysts felt the Pubs would be doing better at this point due to their partial endorsement of Early mail votes. So I think Dems are content with where the PA early vote numbers are...

Also this doesn't take into account unaffiliated voters, who imho will skew younger and Dem. The gender disparity in returned ballots is pretty pronouced with females leading in ballots returned 531,794- 440,801. So overall women have returned more ballots than registered GOP voters have.Of course some of these women are Trump voters, but female registration numbers in PA have skyrocketed following Harris entry into the race, esp in the immdeiate aftermath of the Taylor Swift (who happens to be from PA) endorsement...

Since Pubs are exceeding their 2020 early vote numbers it will be interesting to see how much canibalization of their election day vote is occurring among these early voters? Anecdotally you hear a lot of MAGA voters interviewed who say they are voting early this year to try and keep Dem early vote differential down. But early voting was only around 20% of the electorate in 2020, so it's not a state where the majority of Democrats are going to just vote early. Esp in Philly and Pittsburgh...

Edit- On possible cannibalization... Just informed that 40% of the PA males voting GOP by mail so far cast their vote on election day in 2020...

There's only one solution to this never ending argument.

Someone needs to go into a college bar, drop about $20 into the jukebox with all of the song suggestions, and gauge the reaction by the bar-going public.

Spoiler alert: you'll hear a much bigger reaction from "Africa" by Toto, "The Pina Colada Song" by Rupert Holmes, anything by Journey, Bon Jovi, or even 80s Madonna over anything Mellencamp.
Yup.

The loudest sing alongs I've seen at Kilroys was Hep years when the chorus of this came on...

Anyone actually think we'll get Mullins?

any examples to back that up? will you be recognized around the state of Indiana? sure. Will you have a better chance of getting a job with Cook? probably, at the end of the day you will still have to go out and enter the working world and produce. if he is a multiyear all-star, he will probably make about 300 million the next 15 years. and only step foot in the state of Indiana once or twice a year.
I said "MAY BE" a multi-year all star... but if he's not? Many examples and many I don't know about, but I would guess there are dozens of guys who have found jobs or improved business opportunities through being an IU ball player and with IU alums and fans.

EJ Williams gone!

I find it odd these guys don’t want to move on with their life. You can’t play forever. Who wants to go play 1 year at Directional Michigan in front of 5,000 people after experiencing something like this? Just don’t get it.
Maybe it’s because they have nothing to move on to. To play at this level in today’s game, one needs to direct his attention to playing football, studying the game and conditioning, leaving little time for anything else, including education and pursuit of other interests.

Mike Greenburg was complaining about IU being ranked ahead of Alabama

11-1 B1G team is not getting left out of a 12 team playoff. Full stop
They shouldn’t be left out, and probably wouldn’t be, but imo for anyone to assume there’s “no way” they could be left out is naive. It reminds me of when people were saying there was “no way” IU could be left out of a New Year’s Day bowl game but they were.

EJ Williams gone!

Wow, he even wanted another year here, and Cig said no?

If that's the way it truly went down, then that's a solid statement, saying no hard feelings.
,
I didn’t read it like that. I think he wanted to redshirt to go somewhere else but Cig probably was going to continue to play him sporadically the remainder of the year. He didn’t want that. He was buried on the depth chart. He wants to be WR #1 some place and wasn’t getting that here. Same reason he left Clemson.

NOVEMBER PREDICTIONS - Put em Right Here

Trump. EC by a decent amount. Not the pop vote though.

Iron Mike is going to eat that kids children. Praise be Allah.

I try and never predict or bet on IU because I'm fearful of the jinx. If anything I'll try and reverse jinx by saying they will lose out. But even then the cosmos may be on to me. So nope, nothing. I'm going to pretend you didn't even ask that one. If they lose it's your fault.

A coach with previous college coaching experience would've been able to come in with his own staff and not have to feel around I the dark for 3 years. I'll stand by this, hiring the staff of the fired coach, not at least giving the impression of intent to change culture then bumping Walsh to territorial road recruiting coach. He had zero experience and was handed the keys to the tri-state......these initial first steps were Bush league and we are fortunate to be in the situation that we can throw money at it each spring. Hoosier Hysteria looked like the same stuff. Ballo,Reneau, Mgbako, Carlyle and Rice finished tied after 20 minutes against Hatton, Goode, Leal, Cupps and Tucker.

NOVEMBER PREDICTIONS - Put em Right Here

I think we are going to steam roll MSU. They aren't good.

I'm worried about this week. The national media is glazing us, new QB with full game to start, a decent Washington team with a bye week to prepare.

If we take care of UW convincingly, I like our chances of 11-1.

Re predictions:

Harris

The Problem Child is too much for Iron Mike

Hoosiers 11-1 and in the CFB Playoff.
A damn fingernail. Who'da thunk it?
