One conservative’s argument for a Harris vote

I’m not going to waste my time for the argument against Trump. It’s been made repeatedly already. I’d be more interested in someone conservative actually supporting or endorsing Harris, as in they believe she is the best candidate. But we all know why we don’t have that.
One cannot use the term "best candidate" for either. All smart people are voting based on the least least candidate (whomever that is). Anyone arguing one is "best", "great", "good" is talking out their $#3.

Purdue Loses Exhibition

No, it sounds like he tried real hard to win the game and relied on 3 players. PU returns 2 projected starters with double figure scoring and 3 that averaged single digit scoring. Two of those three will need to step it up consistently.

As a comparison, all 5 projected IU starters averaged double figures where they played last year with a former starter coming off the bench as a double figure scorer. We learned from our football team that past production and experience matter. I believe it will matter in basketball.
He tried real hard. Ok. Not sure how you got this.

IU unchanged in both polls at #13 (links).

Cig is trying to change the mindset of indiana football fans and that means we have to get out of the mindset that everyone is against us. I am not mad our ranking didn’t change and I am not mad that Texas a&m jumped over us. On paper they had a much better win and as much as I love our wins we still have not played any opponent ranked in the top 25. So, someone without rose colored glasses on could argue we are lucky to even be ranked. A few weeks ago the idea of IU even being in the conversation of the playoff was laughable. Now, it is being discussed by everyone. There’s no way a 0 or 1 loss IU team is held out of the playoffs, but we have to keep winning. Two or more losses doesn’t get us there.

Officiating and rankings won’t always be the way we want them. We will get some bad/missed calls, but we will also benefit from them. We are 8-0 and have fan bases around the country hating us for our success, but at the same time wishing Cig was their coach. Keep winning and we will go up in ranking. Enjoy the ride and appreciate the spotlight we are under because we are in the midst of a season we have spent our entire lives dreaming of. Whether we were ranked 13 or 1 today the only ranking that matters is the one released after we beat Purdue.

Suffocating D indeed

Stats From Espn

1st Down IU 20 UW 16
3rd Down IU 8-15 UW 3-11 … better than the average before the game
4th Down IU 1-2 UW 1-3
IU extended 1Q shutout to 8 games only NCAA team with no 1Q scores allowed.
The big yds on the Pick 6 and 4th quarter punt return.

Total Yards IU 312 UW 318
Makes the game look closer than it really was
Yds Passing IU 124 UW 202
Yds Rushing IU 188 UW 116
Rushing attempts IU 52 UW 31
… ~136 IU rushing yds after halftime. OL took the game over v. UW 11th ranked defense …
… Belechek didn’t get the chance to confuse TJ down the stretch for a 2nd pick … He couldn’t stop the run.
… IU 2nd half yds/rush were improved (4+) over 3.6 overall for the game.
… CCC was proud the team found a way to win the game.
… 2nd Half rushing dominance was the old school way.

Overall the team rallied around Jackson and found a way to be successful.
They proved the team was talented and resilient and not dependent on Rourke.

There were enough top 25 losses today for IU to move up, with the strong, gutty performance.
I don’t think there were many losses above us. And we beat, at home, a 4-4 team. My guess is we go up no higher than 11 and could stay at 13.

Can someone explain to me how in the hell

Cignetti has pulled this off. I didn't realize how many starters we lost from last year's team until it was discussed on gameday. I know we picked up a lot of James Madison players, but would anyone have thought even if we took their whole roster that they could compete in the big 10. I know we picked up a bunch of guys from the portal but would have to assume they weren't 4- and 5-star guys that the big boys were going after.

it's almost miraculous what he has accomplished in such a short time, has recruiting picked up? what is our NIL situation going forward compared to the top programs? why did he never get a power 5 offer before he turned 60?

must admit what I've seen at memorial stadium the past few weeks is beyond anything I ever thought was possible, but damn it has been so much fun following this team.
it’s hard to compare the pre-portal and NIL Wilson and Allen eras with this new era. I ‘m still trying to understand how Allen was successful in the Covid year other than having Michael Penix.
