Woodson: "That's on me..." is getting old!

Did you just say that defense in the NBA is better now, than it was in the 90's?
It absolutely is. Less physical, but the games I watch they play hard, move their feet and defend hard, especially on the perimeter because so many good 3 pt shooters. The 90s was certainly more physical in the paint, but now you'd get fined and tossed, maybe suspended so they don't bludgeon people in the paint like they did then. Have you watched NBA games recently?

I wish Luke Goode would quit launching 3s....

He is ft wayne kid so I hate seeing Indiana kids do well for other big ten schools. Nothing against Goode but he is a poor man version of Miller Kopp plus he is gone after this year which Conner has 2 years left plus he could of started here over Carlyle.
Goode is an IN kid too. We can't get them all. I think we made a strong run at CE, but he didn't come here. Support the kids who choose to be here, and stop bellyaching over someone who chose to go elsewhere. Easy to say CE would have started over Carlyle after he's had a good game, and I love CE and wanted him at IU. No one in their right mind would've said he'd start over KC. No one.

He may have picked up the-it’s on me-from studying Archie tape. Press conferences are important to Woodson-he learned that in his many losing NBA seasons. Better Archie press conference tape than game tape.

Louisville should be an easy win. Their shooting efficiency is poor.
"His many losing NBA seasons"...lol...this board is hilarious.

🚨🚨 It is time to invoke the 25th Amendment

...of the United States Constitution for the removal from Office of President Joe Biden. His mental decline has rendered him incapable of competently executing his Oath of Office. This is evidenced by his abject recklessmess in allowing U.S. long-range ATACMS to be used against Russian territory by Ukraine. This absurd action 1) defies the will of the American people, who just voted for peace instead of continued war in Ukraine and 2) has brought the world to the very brink of nuclear war. President Biden's own words previously acknowledged that such action would lead to World War III. Either President Biden wants World War III or his mental decline has reached the stage where he can no longer keep track of his own positions. Either way this man can not be entrusted with our nation's nuclear trigger.

Russian President Valdimir Putin, in response to the use of U.S. ATACMS and British Stormshadow missiles by Kiev, has lowered the threshold for the use of nuclear weapons by Moscow. And now the U.S. Department of Defense has updated its own Nuclear Deterrence strategy, including 'enhanced readiness of nuclear armed and powered Ohio-class submarines'. According to weapons inspector Scott Ritter, this action signals American readiness to conduct 'a pre-emptive nuclear strike [via Trident Missiles] against Russia’s strategic nuclear forces...to eliminate most of Russia’s nuclear weapons.'

We are nearing the very top of the escalation ladder where the only action left to take is the actual launch of nuclear weapons. We must act swiftly and decisively before it is too late for the United States, Russia, and the rest of the World.

Once again, feel the need to correct you: D is pretty good in the NBA right now. If you want to say "play like 90's era NBA" I can buy that. Pro ball is really good right now. Like watching the difference between the NFL and college football and no one thinks guys in the NFL are taking plays off. When the salaries escalated NBA players started taking things really seriously and they work at both ends now. Hate to say it, but overall, it's way better ball.

I do wish he wouldn’t run his mouth so much. Sure the “swagger” is all fun like tequila at a westside neighbourhood brothel but then you gotta pay the price in the morning when the Carmel wife is waiting up for you.
We all liked the swagger when it got us to 10 wins. Now, we don’t?

F@&$ that!
I love it and it’s high time to we finally got someone in here with an attitude. We had another coach in here like that who an opposing coach threatened to “take him outside because he’s the classic bully. He comes in here, rapes our state….”

Nope. No more nice guys in coaching if you want to be serious about winning. This isn’t a sport for being a really nice guy and likeable personality .

I wonder if Cig will gather all of them today and have a nice, big LEO hug and tell them they played their little hearts out and it’s warm cookies and milk for all?

6. Miami
7. Georgia

9. SMU
10. Indiana

12. **Alabama/Clemson/Arizona St??

Wow! A lot went right for us. I project that Indiana is pretty safely in with only the pretty low hurdle of beating Purdue (by double-digits) remaining.

Alabama, Ole Miss, A&M all fall to 3 losses in the SEC.

BYU loss virtually guarantees nobody from the Big XII will leapfrog us.

I would put us ahead of Boise but that is technically academic because they will be seeded ahead of us either way.

I now assess that even if the ACC gets two teams in we are still safe.

Good night all!! Beat Purdue!!
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this means we would be seeded #12 as the Big XII and Go5 Champs would both skip ahead of us. Which also means we would likely play one of them as the 5 - 12 match-up, and possibly even be favored. 😅

Woodson: "That's on me..." is getting old!

Playing a season with a team that lacks talent is only tolerable if the team plays with max effort. I struggle to root for this team when I see lazy play. Indiana basketball fans demand effort. Sure, we love to win, but if you watch the crowd's responses, they are never as loud as when they watch a good defensive stop. Effort wins the hearts and minds of fans who have to watch a team lose a game.

I'm almost done listening to Woody say, "That's on me" when the team fails to deliver. If he expects to hold players accountable for their lack of effort, then the AD needs to hold him accountable for errors he admits are his fault.

Now what

I wonder if the last TD had anything to do with the OSU sucks proclamation of CCC?
Maybe, I don’t know. Personally, I get the margin of victory angle and I would guess they do it regardless, we’ve had teams run it up on us when nothing was said as well.

Imo it’s up to us to stop it if we don’t like it. Only way to get them back is on the field at home in 2026…

Woodson: "That's on me..." is getting old!

I didn’t compare them. Perhaps read what I wrote again. He said that Indiana should be sweet 16 at a minimum every year. I said if that is his standard he would have fired Knight. I believe Knight is the greatest basketball coach of all time but he was not in the sweet 16 every year.
Knight earned leeway. Woodson has accomplished nothing

Hoosiers

Not just the loaded blitz, but teams are stunting up front and then coming with the delayed blitz as well, so we're having a hard time communicating on the line.

With that said Ohio State and Michigan might have the two best lines we face all year long. They both have multiple NFL guys on their defenses, so it's no surprise we were going to struggle against them a bit.
But it’s also a good sign that they had to scheme a little to get home.

Hoosiers

Have to figure out the overload blitz…been really struggling with it the last 6 quarters

Dumb analogy.

He’s obviously trying to change the team’s mentality. Sure it can make fans a little uncomfortable, but give him a break, the job of turning around IUFB isn’t easy, and he’s been pretty effective.

Final OSU thoughts and observations

Dear diary,

This is just a cathartic post and I don’t want to think about this weekend any more after, on to Purdue.

1) Cold & wet. It was JUST on this side of tolerable. Like it was misty —> light rain, but you never got soaked. Uncomfortable cold, but not miserable.

2) the stadium SUUUUUUCKED. The men’s bathrooms had a horrible urinal to stall ratio. Lines were outrageous.

3) stadium concessions were nice. Same vendor (I think) as we’ve got. Free refills for souvenir soft drink cups were very nice.

4) in spite of others stories and prior interactions with OSU fans in Bloomington, we didn’t run into anyone remotely rude. From the tailgate lot to the game, nothing negative to report.

5) this is our 3rd of the big 3 legacy B1G stadiums. The atmosphere was far and away the best I’ve ever experienced. The whole stadium stood the whole game. They were loud as hell. They, mostly, stayed although there was a noticeable number that left at half that I thought was very weird.

6) More than anything, this game and Michigan have demonstrated that the defense is damn good, but they wear out. If the offense can’t stay on the field we’ll lose to elite teams.

7) special teams. Yuck

8) my major surprise was running the ball after OSU went up 24 with 9 minutes to go. Considering we hadn’t passed with any success all day so I didn’t think we’d see a miracle but I did not expect Cig to phone in the final sequence and concede the loss. Particularly with everything on the line. It reminds me of the criticisms levied at CTA vs OSU last year for playing to lose close vs playing to win.

9) special teams. What a game changing disappointment.

10) Pass pro. Oof, OSU would send the house and we had no answer. Insta-sack

11) impressed with how the team played the first half until the botched punt. The prospect of a tie at half and getting the ball back with an ability to move the ball on the ground was awesome. Fell apart in a hurry.

12) Not daunted.
