Congrats Democrats

Harris just announced she's going to Texas, probably to assist Allred...

She probably won't win Texas, but she'll just as likely cut into Trump's maargin in his most populous GOP state. Trump's in FL today as well, both signs that Harris is gaining in two of the states GOP relies heavily on to boost their popular vote numbers...

I'm pretty sure your popular bet vote is a lock.

Kelly on Trump

I'll say this until I'm blue in the face.

The GOP is where it is -- more than any other single reason -- because the R politicians and the R voters have been on different planets when it comes to immigration. It's not the only issue where there's discord, but it's the most visceral one. And it's no coincidence that it's the primary issue which Trump pounded on his way to winning the Republican Party's nomination.

He saw this disconnect, and he capitalized on it in a big way. And I don't think most governing-class Republicans were just aloof to the problem. Rather, I think they didn't think anything would come of it. I think their attitude was "What are these dolts going to do, vote for Democrats?"

So the pols would talk about it during campaigns. But, when push came to shove, they did nothing.

I don't know if the serious people can gain back control of the GOP. But I do know that they never will until and unless they correct this problem. And the whole situation with Sen. Lankford and that border bill suggests to me that they aren't yet there.
Stopping illegal immigration is a point of agreement between conservative Republicans like me and MAGAs. It'll need to be made into one of the very top priorities of the revised GOP after the election.

Dumb.

Direct me to posts of mine reflecting a far-left ideology.

I seem to recall another poster claiming you're the guy formerly known as Indiana Ranger. I refuse to believe that for a couple of reasons. First, I don't know why anyone would leave and return with a different user name (unless they had been banned). Second, Indiana Ranger was a good poster.
I believe there have been more than a few posters who have left for various reasons and come back under different user names. I also think there is at least one or two people who are probably playing us all and go back and forth between two user names.

It’s not the main issue. The size of government and broken money are the root causes of the issue. Immigration is the governments way of trying to put hand aids on it.

Those would be the main issues for me, too. But they are not the main reason so many Republican voters (and others...the Trump electorate looks significantly different than the Mitt Romney electorate) bolted for Trump.

One of Trump's central pledges in 2016 was not to touch entitlements. He didn't campaign on restraining the size and cost of government, all -- much less govern that way. He was a fiscal disaster -- as has been his successor.

I will give him credit for this, though -- he was better than any other recent president on attacking the massive rat's nest that is our regulatory state. However, I don't think this was a front-and-center campaign issue for him. Immigration and the border were. Second place was probably trade protectionism.

October surprise!

Because he confirmed that he made up the quote and confirmed he said it. No one else present at the meeting has corroborated the statement. You really are delusional.
He did not confirm that he made up the quote. He reiterated what Trump said to him. And once again, you're misinformed. You don't even know where Kelly and Trump were when Trump said what he said. There have been a couple of people that said they didn't hear it and the reason they didn't is because they weren't with the President and Kelly. Kelly has no reason to make up anything. These quotes about Trump are totally in keeping with other corroborated similar quotes disparaging military service. Trump lies about everything, doesn't give two shits about protecting highly classified national security information (he couldn't qualify for a security clearance), yet you believe him over a man like Kelly with no record of dishonesty and 40 years of honorable military service. This is the true TDS - Trump Devotion Syndrome. You've got a bad case of it.

Hell, you really don't care if it's true or not. They could release audio recordings of Trump saying exactly what Kelly said he said and your TDS would keep you from caring. You'd just come up with some other bogus excuse.

Hopefull we can get some dialogue. What issue(s) matter most? Do you have a lean and what do you need to hear to seal the deal?

I think we know where a large number of folks (including myself) stand, but I'm fascinated as to why some people are still on the fence? Doesn't really matter since we are all in different states, and I doubt many of them are battleground? But I'm curious?

Do you honestly think there are undecided people who participate in a political discussion board?

If you participate here with the mindset that you might convince somebody to vote the way you do, then you're deluding yourself. This is why everybody should feel free to be honest about their thoughts...instead of feeling like you have to be an advocate for your candidate or your party.

Personally, I decided that both of these candidates suck and I'll choose somebody else. Neither one of them seem the least bit interested in doing the kinds of things that we need to have done. So why should I vote for either one?

It is very odd that neither of them knew diddly about the other side of the ball. I found it odd then and still do. It's a MAJOR reason they both lost games...
Hiring a coordinator with no significant head coaching experience is a roll of the dice, and there are going to be growing pains: we know. See Purdue, lol. It takes 3-4 years to see if they can grow into the job and be a decent coach. Allen and Wilson were very coordinator dependent for the other side of the ball.

Neuheisel just now on CBS Sports Network...

I'd also add, if I were doing it...

I'd have the 4 top conference champs ALSO get to host a playoff game.

I know that puts a big damper on the traditional Bowl Games...but maybe those Bowl games could rotate and partner with the host schools or something?

I know this is quite the "problem" to consider. But I'd almost prefer IU were a 5 seed, versus a 4 seed...just to have the chance to host a playoff game.

Was thinking about this type of thing too…after what is shaping up to be the best year most of us have ever seen, our “bowl” game may be a game at another school we won’t get to attend.

October surprise!

Yes. Previously he was only quoted in an article and a book and the MAGAs claimed he never said it, and/or the quotes were made up. That particular nonsensical defense is no longer available.
Because he confirmed that he made up the quote and confirmed he said it. No one else present at the meeting has corroborated the statement. You really are delusional.

The more I see the MAGA replies about our generals, I get why Ike didn't want the nativists to win in 52.

It all reminds me of the Birchers going after Ike. Welch accused Ike of being a communist. But Ike returned the Republican Party to sanity. Where is today's Ike?

Hoosier Hysteria Clips...

Smith and Loyer, historically, haven't been all that good when Edey is on the bench, or when the opposing team chooses to guard them all straight up. So Blimpy's point about them being 40% plus or whatever he listed...doesn't mean much of anything until they show it without Edey on the roster.
They averaged 5.5 losses the last 2 years. So your telling me with the second toughest rated schedule last year that only a couple hand full teams guarded them? Why didn't all teams try to guard them if it was that easy? You know a fact, IU shot 32% with Ware in their line-up and he was your best 3% shooter! So IU brings in a couple more guards who can't shoot, and your worried about Purdues guards? Funny, Ballo does not shoot the 3, so all teams just need to do is pack the paint, RIGHT? Good Luck!

Trump wants the military to make this oath now:

“I swear by God this holy oath, that I will render to Donald J Trump, Leader of the United States and People, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, unconditional obedience, and that I am ready, as a military member, to risk my life at any time for this oath”

Just kidding, but I think it would appeal to him.

I just spoke with the Capper.

I asked him if he thought this was a trap game. He said have you be watching? Every phase of the game is superior. Indiana is going to win the game. You want to give 6.5? He already did. Here we go 8 and 0. The Capper doesn't work, hangs out at the Track and can cash a check in any bar in three states.
Nice post! I love the Capper posts. Nostalgic as I think of Ellis Park and Audubon Raceway. My family owned some buggy horses. Go Hoosiers!

I had no idea how little Kevin Wilson and Tom Allen knew about the other side of the ball even after years of being a head coach at Indiana. CCC has made me a believer in relevant experience.
