Which side has more quiet or embarrassed voters this time around?

Very true and certainly disappointing to me that Democrats could have simply picked a solid centrist and still garnered all of the progressive votes.

But just days from the election I refuse to believe there are that many morally corrupt Americans who would actually cast a vote for Trump after everything he's said and done.
Logic tells me Harris is a long shot, despite the very tight polls. Although, I am genuinely intrigued by my original topic, and how that will turn out.

I don't know why, or how, I disagree with your 2nd sentence, but I do. Mainly because I know some very, very good people that are ardent Trump supporters. And the answer isn't "they're not actually good people, they must be morally corrupt deep down"...because they are good people, and they aren't morally corrupt. I personally dislike him, DEEPLY. And it'd take a level of awful human, I've not yet encountered running for any political offices, for me to vote for him. But if he wins, I will "support" him. Him doing a good job is better for all of us than him failing and "bankrupting" the United States (which is very possible given his history of failures and bankruptcies).

The main hope I have right now is Trump is a loser to his core. He loses quite a lot more than he wins. He's one of the few humans on the planet that could have possibly lost to Biden and then Harris. So just like nominating someone as progressive as Harris gave Trump an unlikely chance to win. Trump gives a historically unpopular administration, with a pretty bad new leading candidate, an unlikely chance to win.

Buckle up...we probably won't know who won for a few weeks yet.

Sorry to be Political but Go Vote!

...for CCC in the The Paul “Bear” Bryant Awards Fan Vote for Coach of the year.

i know not what course others may take but as for me, i'm voting for Megan!

We got a contender

The problem for PU fans is you guys do have decent success... at things no one remembers or cares about. Sadly, with the unbalanced schedule and addition of the conference tournaments, that now includes winning the B10 regular season. You'll be remembered far longer for what you almost accomplished last year (NC final appearance) than any of the other "accomplishments" you mentioned. You know what it makes you when you are one of the most successful programs at feats that are irrelevant?
Something that is remembered are the big upsets in March. Every year some of the NCAA tournament telecasts will include highlights and mentions of the biggest upsets that make the tournament so special.

That is something Purdue is #1 in, or at least tied for #1 with UVA. For the next several decades we'll see flashback highlights and mentions of the Fairleigh Dickinson game during every NCAA tourney. This is what Purdue will be remembered best for -- being one of the all-time chokes. That's tough, but is what is for PU.

Harris vs. Trump 2024

Any serious, reliable and objective news organization would be embarrassed to have done this in the first place.

I think it's pretty telling that CBS refused to release the unedited video and/or transcript. If it were me, and I was being falsely accused of deceptive editing, I'd be eager to get that out there. I'd put the burden on my accusers to show where I did it.

So I think it's probably true that CBS chopped the interview answers up in a way that they didn't want everybody to see and scrutinize.

That said....this is a ridiculous and groundless lawsuit that shouldn't last 10 minutes in any courtroom.

Trump's first EO...

Agree. A lot of the older folks I work with said they were turning off their lights or going out for the night to avoid it. Others with young kids said they were both walking with them so would not be handing out candy.

When are kids were young one of us always stayed home to hang out candy.

When I was a kid, my grandparents had just moved from a neighborhood in Fort Wayne to a place in the country outside of Columbia City. They were big Halloween people.

We went out there like a week after Halloween. We walked into the house and my grandpa had whole bags of candy with our names on them. My dad asked him why each kid had a bag, which he replied my grandma had purchased the candy thinking kids would be coming by for trick or treat. He said he looked at her and asked which kids, there wasn't a house within a half mile of them and their house was a good 1000 feet from the road with no light visible.

Such a good memory.

and AI?

I have a lOT of faith in AI, eventually. I think self-driving vehicles are closer than most think, as one example. But AI isn't ready for primetime, not quite yet. It is still learning. We will know it has reached maturity when it tries to kill the humans. Also with virtually every poll in PA being within the MoE, I don't know how AI can parse it with reasonable accuracy.

Harris vs. Trump 2024

So all the whining, pre emptive claims of "cheating" and ridiculous stunts like this...

Does that sound like a campaign that believes it is "winning"? This action exemplifies the desperate nature of resorting to a Hail Mary. It's a perfect combination of both whining and claiming pre-emptively that he was "cheated"... Anyone else would be embarrased to try and pull such a ridiculous stunt...

ETA-Aloha beat me to the punch. But I'll go ahead and leave my post intact because I think the Meidas Touch video contains context that the Axios story doesn't. Like why Trump chose that particular district and judge for his ridiculous lawsuit...

Trump's first EO...

We had a lot of kids in our neighborhood. My disappointment was the number of houses participating. Maybe 1/3 were handing out candy. It seems many quit during COVID and never went back.

But the correct answer is to eliminate DST. It is a stupid law built upon a faulty premise; that it saves energy. We can go to year round standard time, year round DST, it doesn't matter. Just stop messing with the time.

Really? Where the hell have you been somewhere without cable or internet? Last 20 years 7 Sweet 16's or better(2) , 5 B10 championships and 2 B10 tournament championships. IU 3 Sweet 16's(0 Elite 8), 2 B10 championships and 0 tournament championships. Pre Edey is such BS. You are the guy why Purdue people come here and just tee it up and smack. The total delusional guy who secretly outside this cesspool is marred in apathy about "their" school the last two decades. Got news from you bruh, not going to change with Edey being gone this year. Purdue will finish ahead of IU this year and the pundits all predict. Of course the "expert" opinions here think exact opposite lol

The IU fanbase such as yourself draw so many parallels to Nebraska football fans stuck in the 80's and 90's . But hey the championships you share memories with fans of Cinncinnati Bearcats and University of San Francisco Don's are always there. So transparent. If you were a Florida Marlins baseball fan would be happy won two WS and equal of a successful franchise to the LA Dodgers.

Too funny, bravo keep it up great reading!

Trump's first EO...

Looking back to Halloween, as a kid, the fun part was putting together a costumes as a family project. To my pleasure residents would often make a comment on my costume.

Buying or renting a costume didn't exist. That would eliminate the fun of creating your own new identity.

Biggest disappointment last night was the lack of originality in the costumes with many not even having a costume.

As to an Executive Order on Halloween, should be on a weekend. Working parents coming home at dinner time and taking the kids out to beg for candy (which they shouldn't eat in the first place) doesn't sound like a wholesome fun time for a family to me.

Something in your post made me think about Des Moines. They don't trick or treat on Halloween but the night before except this year when storm warnings moved it back a day. They call the 30th "beggars night". The kids are expected to go around and recite a couple of lines of verse, sing, or tell jokes, in return they get candy. This started in the 30s after Halloween vandalism became too much for the town.

Trump's first EO...

Move DST back to October week before Halloween.

Whole generation of soft kids that only trick or treat in the daylight.

8pm, just got dark, and it's basically dead. 😄

Rhule vs Cignetti

Here is what We need to look at. Cignetti came into a situation where the Coaching change led to a lot of Player turnover. He had to work quickly and fortunately had connections through James Madison and the Sunbelt Conference to find experienced Players Who had histories of being productive and could play in the Big 10. Long term that may not work Year to Year. But now He has the best of both Worlds. With a Year under his belt, He and his staff should now have connections to high school programs and with the success the program has had, there has to be wide spread interest in that recruiting pool. And now He has proven He can bring in transfers from various programs, get Them to buy into His system and play effectively. So there should be interest there also.
I would expect fewer transfers and more high School recruits going forward, so He can have more consistency with Players Who may stay in his System for 4 or 5 years.
Yep. Sure there are risks next year, maybe our QB isn't as good or something else changes. Nebraska could get better over time I don't know.

But the article tries to say recruiting this year (coming off a good maybe very good season) will be tougher than it was last year (when he inherited a team in November that won nine total games the last three years). Why would recruiting be harder now?
