I work at the right place.....You can always find an emergency if you overreact enough.

Couldn't agree more. Those catches were incredible. Did you happen to notice Cig taking copious notes during that start? At one point, I told my GF he must be writing a novel. Whatever it was, they found a way to stop that guy the rest of the game. And knocked their QB out of the game. I actually felt a little sorry for their backup. He looked less than enthusiastic about going against IU's fired up D.The only thing that surprises me is that the MSU start has only happened once this year. The only reason that happened is due to two amazing catches by their wideouts on the sidelines. Those catches were likely a one in ten chance of success.
I find it a bit surprising our short-run vs. long-run recruitment results are so different. In the end it's a pitch + NIL for both. Yet IIRC guys like Rice, Carlyle, Ware, and Ballo only visited IU and didn't even bother to go to another school to compare we had them so locked up. I'd guess the short run recruitments are less competitive and perhaps more transactional/NBA-like which is a better fit for Woody, but I'd think some of what works on the short-run recruitments should work on the long-run ones. Strange.I give him a little more credit than that...obviously he has the cash, but he's beaten out programs that also have plenty of cash. I think he relates to the mindset of a college kid that's looking for a different path, and a different situation...overall, pretty well.
I do think there might be something to the longer, drawn out recruiting processes, and Woodson not having the interest or patience to kiss a 17 year old, and his entourage's rear ends that long...
But I don't think the recruiting battles he's winning, and he's won plenty of them... I don't think he's only winning them because of IU's money.
If someone wants to waste their time protesting something they will have no effect on and aren't disrupting peoples activities then I say let them waste their time. The professors’ letter said they don’t want GameDay fans to be punished, but instead want IU to rescind reprimands against candlelight vigils as a form of protest.
it does seem like a stupid law.
I despise anti-Israel protests but I despise even more attempts to ban free speech without any associated violence.
Those two catches certainly contributed to it. But we also started flat. A couple drops, some errant throws by Rourke, very soft coverage, not nearly as much pressure on Chiles. MSU made some incredible plays, but everyone knew their hot shot freshman receiver was capable of that. The only thing that surprises me is that the MSU start has only happened once this year. The only reason that happened is due to two amazing catches by their wideouts on the sidelines. Those catches were likely a one in ten chance of success.
Coaching mattersWhat world are we in that the football team could theoretically be ranked higher at any given time this year then the basketball team?
My most sincere hope...that when Dolson, or whoever the AD is at the time, has the challenge of picking our next bball coach...that they use the Cignetti hire as a very strong frame of reference. NAIA, D3, D2, low level D1...who cares. Pick someone that has demonstrated success coaching the game of basketball...AND has the right blend of stubbornness and charisma, to lead the program. He’s still milking Bob Knight’s legacy for what little it might still be worth a quarter-century later. Those banners don’t sway in the breeze like they used to, heavy laden in dust that they be now.
He has a broad definition of what's considered work.

I could have guessed.
Anthony Thompson and Antwaan Randle El concur.... and, you don't necessarily get a Heisman for being the best player in college football either.
Break glass in case of emergency situation. It's Buffalo Trace so not really missing out on something i've not had previously.Big fan of desk whisky. The unopened part is a bit odd, but at least you've got the foundational pieces in place.
a brave, new one apparently. What world are we in that the football team could theoretically be ranked higher at any given time this year then the basketball team?
Woodson definitely needs to take notes..Maybe we can have Cignetti coach em when the football season is over....🤣

I have to admit, I'm guilty of it as well. There's really nothing anyone could point to, just from watching this team play and watching Michigan play, as an example, that should point to the game being competitive. But even in my brain, they're Michigan, and we're IU. Not sure tangibly what that even means other than Michigan has a much longer leash, and it wouldn't "surprise" me if they played IU tough, or even beat IU on Saturday...when that should actually be literally shocking...based off what both teams have shown on the fields through 9 games.
Further, when IU went down 10-0 against MSU...I wasn't shocked, or pissed, or anything. It was almost a "this feels more normal" type feeling. When, again, that start should have been infuriating.
Dbm who is your go to on game day? Bill Hemmer over at America’s newsroom?!!!!!

He could be a Top 5 QB for a long time. He hasn't had a good enough line to judge. He's clearly not a "generational talent." We missed out on another haul.
Hoosiers are 9-0 and basketball season is about to kickoff. Man U has a new manager (the next next next big thing). **** the Colts. If Chris Ballard and Gus Bradley are still there next year then they're a joke.
Old sweaters never die. They don’t even fade away. They’ll survive nuclear war, along with the roaches.
For sure.IU's record in the past SHOULD have nothing to do with the present and what this team is doing.
But we all know it does!
