Thoughts after 2 exhibition games

let me start out by saying Marian looked like an average HS Team

Ballo- Love him so far. Fills the middle. Rebounds, plays D, hangs around the bucket.
Rice- Best player on the team. Lighting quick in transition and can shoot.
Tucker- Only played against Marian but unlike Mgbako, a true 5 Star. He can shoot outside and create his own shot.
Goode- Very confident in his shot. Great form. One thing....the ball hasn't gone in yet
Mgbako- Looks the same as last year. We will see if he improves.
Galloway- no comment, injured. He might not get minutes if Tucker keeps getting better
Cupps- Can't play passive this year. Rice will take all his minutes
Reneau- He's looked really good. Would love to see him develop a 10ft jumper.
Carlyle, James, Newton, Hatton- remains to be seen
Marian would defeat any average hs team. Thanks for the list and reviews.

Thoughts after 2 exhibition games

individual assessments don't matter in games like this.

Did they execute?
Did they hit shots?
Did they win both halves?
Hit free throws?
Move the ball without turnovers?
Force bad shots/turnovers?
Rebound?
Deny passing lanes?
We were just way too big and fast for Marian to handle. Scored easily, kept the pace up, and really took over on fast breaks.

Our 3-point shooting still needs work, though. Had a rough night from deep, but you could see Goode finally got the feel when he had a couple of 3s go down.

Tucker looked smooth and confident, nice finish at the rim from a lob... Definitely keep an eye on his minutes as the season progresses.
Nice to see Newton actually play some minutes.

Where the f*** is the capper?…

I just Spoke with the Capper. He skipped De; Mar saying this is the biggest game sense Purdue in 67 and has tickets on the fifty-yard line thirty rows up. Glad Rourke is starting. If he can't go, then Jackson is in. If Jackson started and had to replace him, that would hurt the program going forward. No good reason to reverse the situation. Coaching. As for giving the points on the road, "don't be greedy" Leave it alone. Just win baby. The Capper doesn't work, hangs out at the track and can cash a check in any bar in three states.
Are the three states: delusion, denial, and despair?

Law Question of The Night

Can you violate the civil rights of a dead person?
Assuming you are talking within the context of American constitutional law, the answer is no. There may be some instances in canon law or even common law where the dead have some limited rights, but that's really just speculation. As Marvin pointed out, it's certainly possible to violate the rights of the dead on a moral level, if not a legal one.

Women dominate early voting

I like this site. It doesn't show who people are voting for but it does show who is voting. Click on the states to see each ones data that is available. Not every state has the same data. Pennsylvania has probably the most complete of the "battleground" states. The Harris campaign has said they feel like a 500,000 vote lead by election day there would be insurmountable in their opinion. Currently 390k more Dems have voted than Republicans. But again it doesn't say who the votes are actually for...

I use the UF site for raw numbers, but Target Smart is where they dig into the numbers based on who votes and where.I can't navigate the actual website, but Tom Bonier makes several appearances on various shows and reveals what their data says...

For a political junkie like me it's like a kid at Christmas...

Is that anywhere near close to the situation being discussed? I was talking about having some pride, and standing up to a bully if need be...and that's what you come up with? Judging from your comments I feel like you have been bullied on more than one occasion.
Geez, let’s both do the readership a big service and drop this debate. No one cares and its regressing to the state of boredom. They deserve better and besides, I need some sleep.

Same playbook, different election

I can see math isn't your strong suit, genius.

If a 'county' has 100,000 and goes for Biden and 2 other counties of 20,000 each go for Trump, I supposed you'd say the majority went for Trump?

Go back to 3rd grade. Genius.
So I guess you're saying that it was only the Dominion machines used in counties that Trump won that were "defective"? Funny how that would work out when Trump counties likely had GOP election officials? So were the counties using Dominion machines helped or penalized by the machines?

It's only about half of the total counties in those 10 states that used dominion. And of that total that used the machines 81% went for Trump. So was Trump hurt by the Trump-counties that used the machines, or hurt by the Biden-counties that used the machines.

You know, since your claim is that Dominion machines "hurt" Trump? I guess that's what you're claiming?

Some troubling signs for Trump in Pennsylvania

Huge numbers of new voters are casting ballots in Pennsylvania. Over 100,000 new voters have already cast ballots there, with more to come. Biden won PA in 2020 by 80,555 votes.

Obviously it's impossible to know how these new voters are voting, but it's almost certainly good news for Harris. More new voters in PA are registered Dems than Pubs. Among the new male voters, they're slightly more likely to be Dems than Pubs. Among new female voters, Dems outnumber Pubs 2-1.

Charlie Kirk is pleading with male Republicans in PA to vote. He knows Trump's in trouble.

Perhaps even more telling, Trump -- - always the strategic bad faith actor - - is already falsely claiming that Pennsylvania is "cheating big."
I don't think that this stat can be overstated. The Pubs are not drawing "new voters" in PA. Of the returned Pub ballots, 47% came from people who voted on election day in 2020. 46% have come from people who voted by mail in 2020. So basically 93% of returned ballots from registered GOP voters come from 2020 voters... That means the Pubs early vote totals are only made up of around 7% of "new voters"...

By contrast the registered Dems who have returned mail ballots only include 12% 2020 ED voters.

And if you dig down into that 46% of returned registered GOP ballots that voted by mail in 2020,another negative emerges for Trump. Republicans who chose to vote by mail in 2020 were bucking the party's position. And they overwhelmingly voted for Biden, not Trump. So what % of the returned registered "Republican" votes are actually Harris voters? And that's not even counting the UA voters who lean Dem and skew younger and female.

We got a contender

Something that is remembered are the big upsets in March. Every year some of the NCAA tournament telecasts will include highlights and mentions of the biggest upsets that make the tournament so special.

That is something Purdue is #1 in, or at least tied for #1 with UVA. For the next several decades we'll see flashback highlights and mentions of the Fairleigh Dickinson game during every NCAA tourney. This is what Purdue will be remembered best for -- being one of the all-time chokes. That's tough, but is what is for PU.
This is true and gotta love it!!!
