Mike Woodson 2022 Summer Basketball Camps

IU Coach Mike Woodson To Hold Two Basketball Camps This Summer

If you know the story of how Indiana basketball coach Mike Woodson began his journey with the Hoosier program, you know that it began with attending a summer camp that was put on by Hall of Fame Coach Bob Knight. The youngster from Indianapolis had a chance to make an impression for the first time with his long-time mentor and thus a near half-century relationship began.

“One of the biggest thrills of my life was winning a contest at Coach Knight’s camp and being given a t-shirt for doing so,” noted the Hoosiers second-year coach. “After that, there really wasn’t any other place that I wanted go to college and there wasn’t a coach who I wanted to play for more than Bob Knight.”

Woodson will now have the chance to run his own camps in the Summer of 2022, with Day Camps for boys in Grades 2 thru 9, June 13-16 and June 20-23. The camps encourage a love and appreciation for the game and will have a staff which will include Hoosier coaches, players, and student-managers.

“If we can inspire someone and change the direction of their life then I feel like we will have accomplished what we set out to do,” added Woodson.

The Day Camp will emphasize fundamental skill development. The daily schedule will include individual instruction, small group instruction, contest and competitions, and 5-on-5 scrimmages. This is your opportunity to experience Coach Woodson’s basketball program up close. The Day Camp will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. Check in will begin on Monday at 8:15 a.m.

Frost & Nebby get a gift ((errrr..., Penalty)) from Emmett in his way out the door... 🙄😣🙈

If that approach to enforced compliance is now the standard penalty for that particular infraction we'd be foolish to not just completely ignore the "countable coaches" rule and just go full bore, full on, all in coaching from everyone under contract from now on...

The NCAA..., what a joke of an institution...

2025 prospect Trent Sisley talks recruitment, start of AAU season

@KylerStaley and I got the chance to talk with 2025 Heritage Hills forward Trent Sisley.

Just a freshman, but uber talented. Going to someone a lot of programs are after.

Big10 mega media deal (Link)

According to the article schools would clear upwards of $71m annually

hopefully they move away from Fox sports, but with the SEC being locked up by ESPN, it seems unlikely.
As is the Big Ten doesn’t get the same coverage as the ACC or SEC from ESPN Talking Heads or media members
In general I find that FS one and Fox broadcasts to have lower quality.

At least in what I noticed last season, many of the FS1 broadcasts maxed at 720p

The Draft Was "Authentic" - Justice Roberts

I don't much care if Roe is overturned or sustained. But this leak is unacceptable and much more of an attack on democracy than the January 6 riots.

My initial over-reaction is that this person is another Julius and Ethyl Rosenberg and/or Assange/Snowden, overruling a whole society/population and taking the wrong things into their own wrong hands.

I hope they go to jail.

Best seats?

This may be a dumb question since I've been to 40+ IU games over the years but this will be my first year getting season tickets (didn't live anywhere close previously) - where should I sit??

I like comfort (read: shade, when available) and we will have a toddler with us. Any suggestions? Really looking more for "don't sit below row 30 and don't go above row 50" or something. Thanks in advance!

Rivals Three-Point Stance: A look at Indiana in 2022

Pretty in-depth look at Indiana ahead of the 2022 season, including expectations and more.

Good stuff from national writer Clint Cosgrove.

Cincinnati Reds manager David Bell

"I really have a lot of faith in our staff and our team to turn this around. That's a huge challenge. But I know it's going happen. That's the only focus I have. I haven't thought of anything else.''

Holy moly.

Not only is the Reds' 3-19 record the worst start in franchise history, it's also tied for the second-worst record through 22 games in baseball's Modern Era (since 1900), according to ESPN Stats & Information. Only the Baltimore Orioles, who started the season 1-21 in 1988, have had a worse record through 22 games.

Plus it may get worse. The Reds placed second baseman Jonathan India on the injured list, again.

Jeremy Gray get the Mic Full Time

Congrats to Jeremy. As expected, he gets the nod to try to fill the big shoes of Chuck Crabb.

Jeremy gets the culture and tradition, and IMO does a nice job of finding the sweet spot between what Chuck delivered and the many god-awful screaming Howler Monkeys out there.

We all hated to see Chuck go, but knew it had to be coming.

Student Loan Forgiveness

I'd be curious to hear the board's thoughts on this in a single thread as I know we've all discussed it randomly in other threads. I don't really want to get into what it really is, which is just more pandering to the far left and bribery for votes in advance of the midterms, but whether it's the right thing to do.

At some point there has to be a recognition that people obtained degrees that don't pay for themselves. I won't call them worthless because i love school and learning and believe there is value in personal edification. Unfortunately the rising costs of college have rendered this more of a privilege than any sort of entitlement. Personally I am against forgiveness. I'm even against means tested forgiveness. I would support ending penalties and interest, and I do believe that after a set period of time, ten years or whatever, they should be dischargeable in bankruptcy, but I don't think it's fair to the people who 1) worked hard and sacrificed to pay theirs off and 2) prioritized other investing like real estate or starting a business that didn't work out. At some level isn't debt just debt? Finally I think/hope crippling debt could have a byproduct benefit of reevaluating education and the cost of same.

Denying Trump a second term could come at an unimaginable cost

Lloyd Austin surprisingly announced that the US policy is now to degrade Russia’s military so it can’t invade again. Not a good message to deliver to Putin. A Worse thing to say when a more strident Russian will be in charge while Putin is under the knife and said Russian speaks of missile attacks on Ukrainian decision centers and decision makers with a side order of Berlin, Paris, and London thrown in.

Trump says that negotiations are way overdue and that the chance of a negotiated outcome is less each day the war goes on.

Norm Chomsky said Trump is the only adult in the room.

Norm Chomsky is right on this one. Lloyd Austin needs to keep his trap shut. He is, or maybe already has, pushing Russia over the edge. I don’t think we would be here if Trump were POTUS.
