Can’t anybody here play this game?

So said Casey Stengel manager of the ‘62 Mets, one of the worst teams ever.

Wars rage in Ukraine and Gaza. But there is another war a Naval Battle in the Red Sea. This is draining Naval resources. According to one source, the Navy shot in a day all the Tomahawks we bought in a year. The targets are rag tag Yemeni terrorists who don’t have two nickels to rub together, but they are funded by Iran.

Iran is kicking our butt in the Red Sea, in Gaza, In Northern Israel with Hezbollah, and is supplying weapons to Russia in Ukraine.

What is our hapless president doing about Iran? Releasing billions in withheld sanction money for nothing in return. Nothing else.

Biden has not only helped Iran make a train-wreck of the entire Middle East, he is stuck in another Iranian war of attrition in the Red Sea and he gets a pass from media and congress. I don’t get it!

Oh, did you hear about the Gaza pier that costs millions for nothing all to collect a few votes in Michigan?

@Aloha Hoosier, The U.S. navy is taking it in the shorts with these blunders. This is not sustainable.

Biden is the ‘62 Mets of presidents.

Beggars/homeless

Just now, I stopped by my local Starbucks to grab a pick me up espresso for the afternoon.

As I’m walking into the store, there’s a panhandler, dirty, kid about 20. Little cardboard sign, ratty clothes. He quietly asks if I can buy him “a coffee.”

Normally I say no or ignore, but a coffee? Why not. I say “you want a coffee? Sure kid. What size?”

His response: “ just a small mocha cookie crumble”.

“What?”

He repeats it.

I just started laughing out loud. “You’re kidding me?”

“No sir.”

“You really want some sugar, huh. Ok. Give me a minute.”

I’m sitting here waiting for it to be made. Anyone want to guess what it cost me?

The Father of Our Country

The Father's Day party on our porch has begun a day early.

Asked a recently confirmed American citizen from Thailand who the father of our country was.

She replied, "George Washington".

She then said to ask her native born husband this question when he arrived.

Upon his arrival and being asked he replied, "Jimmy Rodgers".

Hearing this, his Thai bride doubled over laughing.

To wit he declared, "I've been to the Country Hall of Fame, and I know who the Father of Country is".

The Thai bride looked puzzled and frowned as if she was about to lose her citizenship.

OT: OSU's Bill Mosiello is moving on after just two seasons with the Buckeyes...

Mosiello is headed back to TCU as the top assistant and hitting coach. Before the OSU job, he was the associate head coach at TCU for nine seasons. He said the move was strictly for family reasons, and his family remained in Texas the two years he was with OSU. Mosiello was considered one of the top hires in the country at the time OSU signed him. Evidently, he never informed the team of his decision nor did he tell incoming athletic director Ross Bjork of his decision before he announced it. Here's a quote on that from an article:

Mosiello said he didn't have time to tell Ohio State players before the move was finalized. He also said he did not speak with incoming athletic director Ross Bjork about his vision for the Ohio State baseball program because "I didn't want him to talk me out of leaving."

"Me chasing my ambition here at my dream job to be away from my family, I wanted it so bad and make it work," Mosiello said. "It just couldn't happen. It couldn't happen. It's really that simple."

While considering the Game Day ambiance...

It looks like the Red Steppers now have some serious competition for hottest dancers in the Big Ten:

My solution: footwear upgrade...
Get them into something with less of a heel that allows for even more athletic moves than they're already known for (if that's physically possible 😉😎)...

Had a high school friend who was once with the Dance Team up at Ball State back in the really early "70's" and they wore some type of red, tight to the calf, semi-boot with a low heel that they could safely hop around in... She looked great too... The stuff they have our women wearing these days looks like a real boot that appears to be a sprained ankle waiting to happen...

*Yes, I'm even attempting to polish our dance teams presention. What can I say, it's an extraordinarily slow day at this end...

With the women of west coast now in the mix the RS will need to up their game accordingly, fortunately our talent pool is deep...
