If you see one more concert in your life it has to be Santana.

Just got back a little bit ago. An amazing concert.

Almost-77-year-old Carlos can still bring it. Mesmerizing. He has to sit during most of the show, and moves about as well as Biden when he does get up, but that doesn’t impact his playing. Damn, he is just tremendous. See him while you still have the chance.

The percussion side will knock your fvckin’ socks off and pound them into next week. Carlos’s wife - 64-year-old Cindy Blackman - will leave you exhausted. Damn, she is just as tremendous.

Outside of The Allman Brothers this may have been the best concert I’ve been to.

We return you now to your regular late-night programming.

Top 100 @ Ben Davis H.S.

Trent Sisley and Braylon Mullins were selected for this event but we're unable to play. Braylon Mullins did show up and was a presence there just for coaches to talk to and interact with his fellow players. IU was also watching 6'9 Cathedral Sr. Brady Koehler who is long and has enormous potential. He's a little weak right now so playing thru contact is not his strong suit but that will come in time. He can put it on the floor very well and shoot it from 3 even better. His recruitment has recently picked up with offers from Stanford and a few other P5s but this is a kid (that if he doesn't get offered and recruited by IU now) they'll regret it and hope they can pull him in the transfer portal. He can space the floor extremely well and be a 3 or stretch 4.
I would have to imagine they were at least looking at Jeffersonville's 6'8 senior Tre Singleton. Here's another kid that they'll likely wish they had gotten in a few years. Tre is working on making his outside shot more consistent and the best part of his game right now is his footwork in the post. He finishes inside against that tries to check him down low. He also has extremely polished handles for someone his size.
A name for the future is Fishers sophomore Jason Gardner Jr. You may remember his father was the 1999 Mr. Basketball at North Central and Arizona Wildcat point guard for 4 years. Gardner just needs to get his shot more consistent. Right now his best asset is his passing and running the floor. He is a D1 athlete/ soon to be player and I would imagine that IU will jump in on him in the near the future.

Debate fallout

A lot of discussion about the Dem party's options going forward. Two other issues:

(1) We've had a lot of people in government and media saying all the talk about Biden's mental fitness was uncalled for, that Biden was as sharp as a 40 year old, that it was all a right-wing fake media and result of selective editing. A lot of people, until last night, believed this.

The people who knew Biden, had met with him, talked with him or others in the admin, knew this was all a lie. Not a misunderstanding, not a misinterpretation, a blatant lie. Will there be consequences? Will media personalities who pushed this "misinformation" and "disinformation" lose credibility? (Yes, the same thing happened 4 years ago with the pushing of the election fraud cases, etc. It happens on both sides).

(2) Biden's most egregious lie was this line, that I can only think was scripted:

Fact check: Biden suggests no troops died under his watch

“The truth is I’m the only president this century that doesn’t have any this decade and any troops dying anywhere in the world like he did,” Biden said.

This is false.

The Defense Department confirmed that 13 U.S. service members were killed in a suicide bombing attack at Abbey Gate at the Kabul airport by a member of ISIS-K as the U.S. was leaving Afghanistan.

[The article omits the 3 who died in Jordan as a result of a drone attack in February of this year]

Biden received the bodies of the soldiers in both of these events. It's not something a person forgets. The last one was a mere 4 months ago:

He either chose to lie about this very grave subject or he forgot about it. I'm not sure which is more disqualifying for a president. His administration should apologize immediately to the families of those dead soldiers. I'm very surprised this isn't the main talking point today about just how far he is gone.

We put down our puppy yesterday

Man, this is hard.

I knew it was coming but two mornings ago, I found him in the kitchen next to his water bowl, heavy panting. He wasn't able to stand at all... when I picked him up and put him on all fours, he sat right back down and couldn't/wouldn't walk.

My wife text me that morning that it was time. She said he wasn't able to bend his neck down to eat or drink - she had to lift the bowls to get him to do it. When he did try to walk, he was dragging his back legs until he couldn't anymore and then just sat down.

He was a 16 year old, deaf, blind in one eye Frenchie. He was my shadow. I miss him so much. My youngest doesn't understand what's going on. We took him in yesterday and she asked this morning when he was going to heaven. Broke my heart. The sadness she had, I wish I could take it away.

I can't do this again. He was part of the family and now he's gone. I guess I just needed a place to vent, so this is it.

Tractor Supply "Woke" Policy Reversal

Tractor Supply has been donating to organizations supportive of DEI and climate change, some with connections to Soros. It doesn't exactly fit their customer demographics outside of suburbanites who buy birdseed and softener salt from them. I've been involved with a couple of TSC's smaller, regional competitors, and they were hammering away at this in meetings, trying to figure out how to use it in marketing campaigns to their more rural client base. It looks like TSC just took it off the table.

How liable should Vandy Medical be for the Nashville School Shooting?

alongside the revelation a source claimed Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) Chief John Drake acknowledged VUMC failed its duty to warn Hale’s intended victims after she expressed fantasies of killing her father and enacting a school shooting.

On one hand, I’d imagine given the amount of mentally ill people in this country, threats are made all of the time. On the other, a bunch of innocent kids are dead because mental health professionals continue to fail at their jobs and more specifically, allowed this to occur.

When we talk about problems with deinstitutionalization, this is such an obvious example of the drawbacks. Those with mental illness gained more freedom, but others are sacrificing theirs.

"It was a slow start"

So, I've never really hidden the fact that I'm not exactly a fan of the Veep. But after watching her performances on both CNN and MSNBC, I have to say that I am impressed with how she has developed her political acumen. She walked a terribly fine line tonight. On the one hand, she made it very clear she was Biden's surrogate, and she was making the argument that Biden is the best choice in November. And yet, at the same time, she just barely made sure that it was also clear that Biden isn't 100% Biden. Whether she doesn't want to spend time focusing on 90 minutes, or how she doesn't need to worry about one bad performance, or whatever, but most importantly, how she made sure that the discussion about these two men quickly evolved into a discussion about what was wrong with Trump, and suddenly her arguments didn't mention Biden at all, she really did a great job setting herself up as the obvious choice to battle Trump without remotely even coming close to recognizing that such a choice even needs to be made.

I do not think her talking points tonight came from the Oval. I think they came from her team. And I think her team is very talented. She is positioning herself as Biden's alternative while simultaneously denying he needs an alternative. Well done.

Uh oh..... don't make MIchelle mad, Joe

"In the fall of 2017, Barack Obama attended a fundraiser in Wilmington, Delaware for the Beau Biden Foundation where Hunter was seen hand-in-hand with his brother’s widow — whom he allegedly cheated on Buhle with. Michelle did not attend alongside her husband and the former president privately described the Biden family dynamics at the fundraiser as “weird shit,” according to a person aware of his comments."

I agree, Barack - that is some weird shit.
