Uh oh..... don't make MIchelle mad, Joe

"In the fall of 2017, Barack Obama attended a fundraiser in Wilmington, Delaware for the Beau Biden Foundation where Hunter was seen hand-in-hand with his brother’s widow — whom he allegedly cheated on Buhle with. Michelle did not attend alongside her husband and the former president privately described the Biden family dynamics at the fundraiser as “weird shit,” according to a person aware of his comments."

I agree, Barack - that is some weird shit.

NBA second round, Pacers with 3 picks... thoughts?

It would seem with their deep roster that they may trade away a couple for future picks. Two of last years picks didn't see much action (Walker & Tshiebwe), in fact they hardly saw the court. Sheppard showed some promise though.

Right now they have the 6th, 19th, and 20th picks of round 2. They had no 1st rounder last night, as it went in the Siakam trade (well worthwhile).

I am thinking they go big, with resigning Obi Toppin being uncertain, they need a PF or a PF/C to eventually give backup minutes.

Interestingly, Filipowski has slid and is still on the board. 6'11" and offensively skilled but not a rim protector and probably a PF-only. I wouldn't mind him, defender Adem Bona, or undersized leaper Jonathan Mogbo. The Pacers don't need PGs at all or I'd take a flyer on Shead, but a few wings available are Furphy and McCullar from Kansas, Christie from Minnesota, Reeves from Kensucky, and my personal favorite Nikola Djurisić from Serbia, 6'7" sweet shooter with hops and only 20. Long term potential.

Thoughts on where they should go?

Hypocrisy and "Toxins"

Shooter, you crack me up. You post this overly dramatic gem in the Only Good Things thread.

This thread is now my sole reason for coming to this forum. The forum is deleted from my bookmarks.... it's become far too toxic, with insults, threats of violence, just outright nastiness. I bookmarked this thread and will try to ignore the rest of the forum. No guarantee of success though.

I go full Hickory and give you a laugh emoji and then you go full potato.

Oh I see that some of the toxins are having a good laugh

Here's a smattering of your comments just this week that would make you a "fellow toxin" which you want to avoid.

I think I live in the greatest country at the greatest time in Earth's history.
Would it be even better without so many morons like you? Certainly.

It gets worse, since Trumpers are having kids at record rates. Why? Because they use condoms by placing them on a broomstick, as they were taught in health class. They don't really work like that.

Too much high fructose corn syrup could be bad for brain cells. For McMurt, who is already struggling in the brain cell category, he might want to taper off. Plus the carbonation might contribute to his notorious flatulence that drives off the chicks even more than the gravy seal gut.

I don't sympathize with either extreme, as an independent. But I think you'd have to admit that the Trumpers, with Cheeto dust stuck in their fat rolls, provide a sight and an odor to particularly avoid.

That would be my ignore list. Which of course you should be on, but when I put you on it, half the threads disappear, since you have no life

I see posts by dumbasshoosier... er i mean dbmhoosier and IUcrazy2 posting shit about the Chinese intentionally releasing an bioweapon, posts which I was assured I was lying about, or that perhaps were merely a figment of my imagination.

They ride bikes.

Well, except for the obese Trumpers.

Early mock draft for next year

has both Carlyle (wow) and MgBako as late first rounders. CBS.
I figured Rice would figure in higher than Carlyle.

In today's version of China is asshoe...

The underground banks operate largely by selling the cartels’ dollars to wealthy Chinese who, alarmed at the political tightening under Chinese leader Xi Jinping, are looking to circumvent capital controls and transfer their money out of the country.

In essence, the officials claim, a new global money laundering network has evolved that marries two powerful financial forces — the huge stockpiles of cash being accumulated by the Mexican drugs cartels from selling drugs in the US, and the rapidly growing volumes of capital seeking an escape route from China.

“Chinese money launderers have taken over laundering for the Mexican drug cartels,” says Chris Urben, who worked at the DEA for 24 years, investigating traffickers around the world. This alliance, he adds, is “amazing to watch . . . a game-changer”.

IUWBB reserved season ticket seating area expanded.....

Will be entire main level, both East & West sides this year vs. Row 31 & below both sides last year. Requests for season tickets apparently strong. And anyone who already requested general admission season tickets can change to reserved if done before 6/30. Go Hoosiers!!!!!!

Email from IU:

In response to a significant increase in the demand for IU Women’s Basketball reserved season tickets for the 2024-25 season, IU Athletics is expanding the reserved seating section for the upcoming season.

The new Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall seating configuration will feature the entire main level (both east and west sides) being utilized for reserved season ticket holders. Last year, Rows 1-31 of the main level were set aside for reserved season ticket holders. General admission seating, meanwhile, will consist of the court-level bleachers and the balcony. On gamedays, once the court-level GA section is full, GA ticket holders will be directed to the balcony.

In consideration of this change, individuals who have already purchased General Admission season tickets have the option to call the IU Ticket Office (812-855-4006) and upgrade to reserved season tickets. Those requests must be completed by June 30. Seat locations for reserved season ticket holders will be determined based on IU’s Priority Point system in July.

Both Reserved and GA season tickets for the 2024-25 IU Women’s Basketball season remain on sale. Reserved season tickets can be purchased until June 30, while GA season tickets will remain on sale until the start of the season. Adult reserved season tickets are $112, while reserved senior season tickets (65+) and youth season tickets (18-and-under) are $48. IU faculty and staff can purchase reserved season tickets for $80. Adult general admission season tickets are $96, while general admission youth and senior tickets are $48.

IU Women’s Basketball is coming off a record-setting season for attendance in 2023-24. Coach Teri Moren’s team averaged 10,336 fans during its 17 home games, and in doing so became just the fifth Big Ten Women’s Basketball team to average 10,000-plus during a single season. IU went a perfect 17-0 at home last season while eclipsing the 20-win barrier for the ninth straight year and earning a trip to its third Sweet 16 in the last four years.

Just more "Bogeymen" right?

So..., we have 50 people roaming around with ties to one of the most radical and dangerous terrorist groups on the planet...

Only the Biden could take dereliction of duty to this extreme.

Do we need more money in K-12 schools? DeBoer says no.

This is all bound up in conventional wisdom that was developed decades ago and is now well out of date. For example, that we’ve somehow “defunded” K-12 education. Just flatly wrong, and yet I hear it all the time.

U.S. Public Education Spending Statistics [2023]: per Pupil + Total

Education expenditure as share of GDP in the United States

On the scale of a decade and expressed in dollars, or on the scale of three-quarters of a century and expressed as a percentage of GDP, we’ve spent more and more and more on education. No miracles in academic performance. You want funds earmarked for poor kids specifically? Here you go, here’s Title I spending:

But the money gets concentrated in the wealthiest schools, right? No, it does not. The opposite is true. Poorer and Blacker schools get more public funding than richer and whiter, for the obvious reason that we’ve been throwing money at the achievement gap for ages. This is a consistent finding and can’t be ignored. For the micro, let’s take a look at some schools in Brooklyn, a borough in the highest-spending state and the site of a great deal of racial and economic diversity.

Joe's potential drug cocktail

Awhile back I was ripped and a few attempted to shame me (because I couldn't name the drug mix off the top of my head) by saying there were no drug cocktails out there that could enhance cognitive performance... Well..., what about these:

That's just the easily obtained stuff..., now imagine that you were the handlers for the President... I'm just spitballing here but my guess is that given his handlers desire to keep power at any price that more than a few illegal drugs have been considered for the mix also...

Here's predicting Ole' Joe will show up on stage tomorrow completely wired and they'll practically have to keep him from attempting back flips during the first hour of the debate...
