You can't beat a dead horse. If the team doesn't have heart, that's not entirely the coach's fault.

The team got full of themselves from the prior year. They didn’t have a chip on their shoulder. Thought since they strung two good seasons together it would just come easy and continue……and Allen didn’t detect the mindset prior to the season. That season we folded our tents and that’s on Allen.

Hate to agree with you about anything but you're absolutely correct on all counts on that...

I'm sure her findings will be objective.
Under Fred Glass, we hired two law firms to investigate allegations of misconduct related to the medical care of football players (and other student athletes). Do you believe their findings were objective?

I don't believe he hired political hacks, so yes.

Of course they will be... right after she meets privately with Slick Willie...
If you really think about the hire: who they hired, who hired her, the now many parties lined up in their varied agendized rows, what is at stake...fascinating actually.

Pat Ryan is not driving this "nuisance news" bus.

A new lawsuit has been filed by a former women's Lacrosse player accousing NU of allowiing a student with criminal sexual history to enroll and then not following up on her allegations of rape by this student.

More than 1,000 former NU athletes have signed a letter in support of NU athletics.

Fitz has landed a new role as a parent FB support person for his kid's HS. He signed a conduct code letter.

He's going to cash in big somewhere next year.

I agree. NU commissioned a review that found he wasn’t aware of what was going on, then pushed him out anyway (just like we did with Kevin). Fitz is a solid guy and very good coach. He‘ll have plenty of options to coach.
Don't even try to compare his situation with Wilson. Fitz wasn't a well-known womanizing drunk around town.

Wilson was told to straighten up and correct his behavior and attitude toward injured players, which was leaving IU open to lawsuits, and he didn't.

The timing wasn't the best, but it was best for all involved. Don't come here and 'poor Kevin' this board.

The drinking stuff was well known from the start, and he received a new deal not long before he was pushed out in spite of his well known thirst issues. If he was told to clean up his act “or else”, why was he rewarded with a lucrative new deal 11 months before he was pushed out?

As for the medical issues, we hired two law firms who investigated and found nothing that implicated KW, not unlike NU’s retention of a law firm to investigate the allegations of hazing (Fitz wasn’t implicated). I’m not saying KW’s fit with IU was a good one, but we were looking to find a way to get him out and, in the absence of something concrete, we just told him he was no longer welcome. Not “poor Kevin”, just the facts.

He likely will assuming Lynch's investigation doesn't do him any more damage and even then you are hiring a guy with baggage. Either he knew or this was the worst case of LOIC since keady and the three cheat.

He drank too much and liked girls. So what.

It’s bumpity bump time (thank you Court for this endearing phrase) for this thread.

July 2023 - Major scandal. Coach fired. Recruits bailing. Everyone calling this a death penalty for Northwestern. Projected not to win a game.

They are going bowling.
Northwestern amazes again.

They also have the Big10 COY who just got the full time job.

So much for the media.
They figured no wins for Northwestern this year.

Just beat Utah to win their bowl.

Finished with 8 wins. Interim coach won Big 10 COY.

Go figure.

They always seem to fail up, don't they?

It's got to be the culture there, but for the life of me, I don't understand how that is. They used to be almost a guaranteed win for us. Very frustrating.

That had to be the ugliest football game ever! Utah played without half of their starters ( a qb that was terrible). And NW qb was on his fourth team and was poor.
