Why is our offense so vanilla?

In Wilson's early years we had a new wrinkle almost weekly. I'm literally sitting in the stands making correct play calls. Why do we consistently boot leg our slow QB? Why can't we run traps and misdirections? It baffles me.

I have been surprised at how our offense hasn't been very crisp all
Year. I guess inexperienced receivers hurts more than I thought
