Yes it was a bad call. We spotted them 7. Winners don't make excuses so let's hope the boys come back.
He DID get away from the ball. It never touched him. We got screwed by a phantom call. Par for the course though. IU never gets the calls against the big boys.
Easy play to avoid. Stay away from the bouncing ball. Whop can be a brilliant player, but he also makes some dumb plays.
Not enough evidence to reverse the call. Boneheaded play.

Either way, it was a dumb play by Whop. Go receive the ball or get away. He was indecisive, and he paid for it.

If he truly did get away from the ball, there would have been no question. The kid made a mistake. Hopefully we respond.
Yes he should’ve caught it, but that doesn’t change the fact that the ball never touched him. The refs blew it. That’s the issue.

The rule isn’t get away or else. It has to actually touch the player and it didn’t.

What?!?! Of course it matters, if he didn’t touch it then it’s the wrong call. He never touched it. What about that is so hard for you to comprehend?
Not arguing about officials ineptitude. Why put it in the hands of B1G officials? Get away from the ball or get it.
The refs blew the call on the field and then blew the review. It never touched him.
What is replay for, if not to determine visually obvious things like the ball not changing direction or rotation after it went by him? Plus, there were two angles that clearly showed space between Philyor and the ball as it went by him. Just total BS.
I thought it did. It was an awkward set up and Whop put himself in a bad position. It wasn’t obviously incorrect, except to people who wanted it to be.
Then they should have overturned it. They didn’t. Put yourself in a position where they can’t make that call. Whop didn’t do a good job.
Move on. If they keep burning our secondary it ain’t gonna matter.
It wasn’t overturned because they didn’t have a view from the side to verify it did not touch his arm. It was just bad luck.
Crying over spilled milk does nothing.
And besides, we still haven’t really stopped them except for that first series. This game isn’t likely to come down to that call.
That was actually a heads-up play by PSU. We should've recovered and didn't.
