Who the hell defends this?

At Harvard it would not just be Jewish Presidents, I suspect there are several Jewish professors. It was noted at IU, Jewish professors took part in the protests in Dunn Meadow. I doubt Harvard was different.

or overbroad in applying to all students w/o a student by student review - without knowing anything about that stuff and what requirements a university has to show to enroll international students
I don’t think yanking the permit is about the students. It’s about Harvard’s deliberate failure to comply with permit requirements. As I said elsewhere, I don’t know if the DHS demands were legit. As you might expect, Harvard was belligerent toward the administration. This had been brewing for months.

OK. Unsurprisingly, we have people that will defend the administration effectively banning Harvard from accepting international students. My theory is that some here will defend anything the President or his administration says or does, so how about the President cashing in on his Presidency personally? No ethical or legal concerns? Some of these people are from other countries too:

Good grief. Just settle down. While this is scummy, it certainly is not an “orgy of corruption .” Trump was in the room for an hour. He probably couldn’t tell you who was present without a list. As one attendee noted, he was there to network with the other guests.

I’d be more concerned with a room full of arms dealers, drug dealers, or oligarchs giving money to a presidents kids and grandkids, than I am of crypto grifters who have nothing better to do with their money than buy a banana duct-taped to a wall.

Nope. Just mild corruption so perfectly fine lmao

Here’s my question. What kind of worthless life do some posters lead when they have nothing better to do than react to my post less than 60 seconds after I hit the post reply button?

Are you giving him the benefit of the doubt just because it's cryptocurrency?

What if he held a luncheon and all invited attendees were required to hand over to him at the entrance a briefcase with $500,000 in cash in it, say it's all $100 bills.

Wouldn't that be an orgy of corruption?

Beats me.

What if the potential attendees handed over cash to the presidents kids and grandkids and didn’t have to attend an event?

I won't defend the administration on this because I really don't care. Foreign students are way down the list of my priorities.

If they come to the US to study and then turn politically active, I couldn't care less if they're deported. Well, that's not true - I do care if they're allowed to stay and harass other ethnic/religious groups. But you do you.

As I've said before, you guys worrry about the dumbest shit.

So bring charges. Isn't that the Biden defense? If you're not brought to trial, you must be innocent!

You guys never understand that this works both ways.

Dumb shit is all they have.

I agree broadly that I have no problem with us holding a tighter leash for those here on student visas.

When I was in London on study abroad in 2015 all the locals were hot a bothered, debating something that came to be colloquially known as “Brexit”. The last thing that came to mind for me was slapping a Union Jack across my chest and picketing around declaring how the U.K. needed to throw off the shackles of the EU. If I had done so and been thrown out on my ass, I would’ve deserved it.

But this latest Trump move is way to broad and punishes Harvard (who granted is the worst offender) while leaving other offenders alone. Scapegoating should not be the prerogative of the DOJ and DHS.

The only real solution is to detangle these Universties from federal money. That wouldn’t help in the case of visas, but it’d be a start.

Let's just make up all kinds of shit and blame it on Trump! You are so child-like.

YOU CAN'T BRING THAT UP! THAT'S WHATABOUTISM.

You should know by now if's unfair to bring up the past when it was OK with them then.

Huh, this is a lot:

Harvard enrolled nearly 6,800 international students in the 2024-2025 school year, amounting to 27% of its total enrollment, according to university statistics.

Brad, was shocked when hearing Harvard had almost 30% of its students from abroad.

First question I had was, Where did they go after graduating?

Absolutely! I couldn't care less if Adolf Hitler U allows students in. Just don't spend my money to support that institution.

But if they break the law, kick their ass out. It's not real hard to understand.
