Co-President Musk

Also, there is a side effect to this. I've been plugged in to the DoD and DoS (to a lesser extent) since I retired from the Navy in 2012. I'm hearing from tons of friends that work in those agencies and they're frickin' pissed. Most of them were Trump supporters and they're doing things that have been long considered extremely important to the US. These aren't the people a conservative President would want to piss off.
Everything is believed impt.

Warmongers? Are you kidding me? Trump and MAGA have been talking about taking the Panama Canal, or else. They're all in on taking Greenland, or else? Canada? Mexico? Gaza? MAGA has become the warmongers, and it happened quickly.
No one is at war. Trump has fought to get nato countries to do more pay more etc. musk could affect real change for once. Who do you want? Self dealing Cheney? McCain types? Bush. Gtfo. There’s a reason they’ve been out for 3 decades. Wake up. The left and the right hate your politics

COH, we've been friends for more than two decades. I've provided many examples of where I see Trump/MAGA going off the GOP conservative rails, but you just won't see it. I'd rather not continue this with you.
I’ve gotten three things from you:

1. Trump personality. I agree but that isn’t political. He’s can be a jerk.

2. Isolationism. I disagree and said why. I don’t think that’s legit.

3. Unwilling to compromise. I disagree and said why. I don’t think that’s legit.

To me it is just this, support the things worthy of supporting but please just keep the critical eye. Not everything going on here is great when the surface gets scratched. Don't let a reaction to the political opposition and how they have acted (or are perceived to have acted by us) to override core beliefs, ethics, and morality.

Hold our side to the same standard we hold the others.

We are still friends. Allowing political disagreements to destroy friendships ain’t for us.

You can’t win wars when you can’t produce bullets. Being the world reserve currency has negative trade offs. The higher ups in the DoD are on board with a lot of Trump’s policies. Your friends might not like it, but status quo isn’t sustainable.

How is trying to cut down the size of the federal government and rein in spending not conservative? You aren’t a conservatism if you aren’t for fiscal responsibility and balance budgets.
This is kind of where I’m at. I think this is all going to blow up spectacularly in Trump and Elons face, but at least they’re giving it a shot.

But how can you say “we have to cut spending” and “well, this isn’t the proper conservative way to do it” at the same time?

That doesn’t make sense to me.

I have friends among the “higher ups” in DoD too. Your take is wrong.

To me it isn't that it is not the proper "conservative" way to do it. The issue is that it isn't following established laws, is therefore likely to not be long term, and it is being done in such a way that is creating a bunch of animosity and has been marred by mistakes that were easily avoidable if instead of bringing in a bunch of 20 year old hackers, they actually talked with people with some knowledge of the situation.

I think the President is talking about buying Greenland and Gaza. Canada really should become a state and leave their socialism because as we know socialism sucks the life's blood of the economy.

You buy that nonsense? Canada will never be a state and we’ll never own Gaza, nor should we want to. Incredible you believe either of those stupid ideas. Trump knows how stupid his loyalists are.

You need to become familiar with what Musk and his band of computer genius whiz kids are doing.

The old fashioned (and useless) way would be to start with the bureaucracy and look at orgs.

Musk isn’t doing that. His whiz kids go to the systems and using AI and algorithms sweeping through massive data sets like a hot knife through butter and finding patterns, looking for mismatches with appropriations and recipients. Nobody has done this ever and is why he is moving fast.

No one is familiar with what they are doing because there has been no transparency. Most (if not all?) of the claims of fraud made so far have been proven wrong. What am I missing?

And why would the novelty of the approach mean he has to move fast?

I feel like you are parroting their "Nothing to see here, don't look behind the curtain" approach.

Hey Elon, FICO (score) is a trademarked invention of a private company on the US and is used better than a Barnum Bailey circus to trick people into playing into a ponzy scheme, AKA the international ability to trade money.
Ya wanna open this ****ING can of worms? PLEASE?

Now we are back to the cult thing again? That criticism is for those who can’t or won’t deal with substance.

I’m out.
It’s mindless & lazy. People who don’t care what someone does in their personal life but approve of their policy or role in gov’t must be in a cult. So dumb…

The democrats were openly planning to expand the Supreme Court should they win the electoral capital to pull it off.

I don’t think animosity is something they’ve ever worried about, nor do I think it’s something the pubs should be concerned with.

That ship has sailed.
