There are no active duty B-52 pilots that were born when their planes were put in service. It's an amazing aircraft. Probably most of each isn't original parts and equipment.

I know it was reported as not in the budget and I know Hegseth wouldn’t tell Congress how it was being paid for. That tells me they’ll be taking it from their operations and maintenance budget and that means something goes without funding.

This all reminds me of a buddy of mine from undergrad he flew back to Purdue for homecoming in the early 90s - in an F-16. He was a navy pilot and his CO wanted them to make certain they used up their fuel allotment for the year. So he and another pilot went on a “training” flight from California to Indy for homecoming.
He went on to become a rear admiral. Great guy.

It was an F something. LOL Could have been an F-14. Bio says he flew A-6 and later F-18, but I’m pretty sure it was an F something and it was early 90s so couldn’t have been F-18

Very likely an FA-18. That was the primary Navy jet which was integrated into the fleet in the 90s. It was the two engined replacement for the F-14 Tomcat which was a great fighter jet too. I haven’t seen an F-14 in a strike group since my first deployment in 1988.
