what if, in the 70’s, society had decided abortion was for rape, incest, health of mother, non-survivable fetal conditions, but not just birth control in cases of “inconvenient” or “accidental” pregnancies?

Would that have prevented the last 60 years of divisiveness? Is that a legislative compromise for the 2020’s?
