What’s wrong with people?

On the other side of the coin, below is Jackie Gleason and Bob Hope in Central Park doing something now illegal in Tennessee and probably in other states soon. When some people go too far in one direction is there a response to go too far in the other direction.

Today they'd be admirals in the Navy.

He's characterizing this as something being done TO the child (by the sicko parents) instead of being done in support of the child. There is no reason to characterize it that way, and no evidence to support it.
If you're coming from the Left, it doesn't make any difference how f***ed up the kid will be, it's all about good intentions. Do you feel the same about parents who refuse to allow their kids to get the polio or measles vaccines? They also have good intentions.

Every once in a while, you make a perfect, balanced post. This would be one of those.
These ppl are nucking futs and it’s not a left right thing. Although there is a very strong correlation, they’re simply wack jobs and the left (as witnessed right freaking here) try to make them normal.
A potato is not a Tesla no matter how hard we try to plug it into electricity (or vice versa).

Normally with you Joe, but I don't think most of the people who 'need' emotional support animals are nuts, they're just weak or damaged. They are about the least insane of all the needy nutjob subgroups that have sprung up in the last 10 years. Sure, it's a sign of the pussification of America, but most of these people aren't in your face with their craziness.

Would that matter? Barry Goldwater was hardly safe on defense, he said that in the army you don't have to be straight, just shoot straight.

It took a long time for the people that voted Goldwater to come to his side on that.

And yet the above been the position of most who have weighed in, more or less. Not to mention that me and zeke are equally sick or evil.

No, I suppose not. I'm just surprised (and disappointed) that me and zeke and maybe lars have been the only ones to even consider that the parents and the child are doing what's best, to even suggest that giving them the benefit of the doubt would be appropriate. The nearly universal condemnation they have received here (some muted and some shrill) was unexpected.
just misguided and enabling

Maybe you should take that as a sign you were both totally wrong on this.

Go woke, go broke applies. And image and morale matter. It's not a SJW experiment.

How could a 3 year old (if this is real) have anything to do with it? This is all the parents. And the main reason to do something like that is to get attention for the parent. Like a Trans Maunchausen By Proxy Syndrome.

My son, who is now 6, was certainly aware of his male gender at 3. If we suggested anything to him that was slightly girly, that being a toy or clothing, he’d immediately shout back, “no, that’s for girls!” Kids at 3 are well aware of gender and where they fit.

If your 3 year old said "I am a monkey Daddy. See ooo ooo ahh ahh and I like bananas." Would you put him in a gorilla suit and drop him off at a zoo? If your son looked at a shiny tutu and grabbed for it when he was as 24 months old, would you assume he is a girl trapped in a boy's body? No, because that is dumb****ery just like this is.

I also doubt you spent his 2's and 3's reinforcing he was a girl either just like you probably weren't beating him over the head that he was a boy because you aren't nuts. I really, really, really doubt that was the case with the two weirdos in the original twitter video. Their son's trans identity is their identity.

The strange fascination with a very small percentage of the population by the right is very curious.
Rather ironic statement, don't you think?

The things that 95% of the people have to change, adjust, apologize for, say, not say, do, not do, remember, etc to accomodate 5% is fasciniating and curious as well.

I am a pretty damned accepting moderate independent and this makes me laugh. I had a collegue chide me for not using it's proper pronouns. After all, they were right there on it's LinkedIn page.

This shit hurts the progress we need to make on real discrimination.

The flotus literally canceling women and everyone is supposed to applaud.

In 100 years, humanity will look back and marvel at the ignorance of this era.

Of that I am 100 percent sure.
I'll tell ya what...I was listening to a radio show this morning and there was a woman that was not happy about this at all. Women are getting cancelled whether it be sports or stuff like this. Its just backwards as HELL. I mean 10 years ago if you would have told us this would be happening across the board I would have laughed you out of the room.

How do you think he formed his opinions?

Do they all concur on 3 year olds having parents treat them as another gender?
All the child's parents and doctors? The child in the OP? I believe so. Can't be sure based on the info. Now that's she's 9, it might be easier.

It's still ridiculous.

However, I do agree with you that a 3 year old knows the difference between boys and girls - which means she knows more than at least one Supreme Court Justice.

My granddaughter proudly proclaimed she's a GIRL at 3. I breathed a sigh of relief.

Would you expect anything else from Bloomington?

The only parents that would be letting a child talk to a doctor in private would have to be a parent that didn't give a sh!t. This is from the article:

It also includes a timeline for how to treat a patient with "a difference of sex development," which begins at four years of age and reaches into adulthood.

That time line advises introducing four-year-olds to ideas about the difference between gender and sex.

By six-years-old, the lesson says kids should begin talking about puberty, and that doctors should consider having those discussions children in private.

Come early puberty doctors are advised to hold meetings with patients in private and to begin discussing transitions.

Jeezuz a simple conversation with a doc about a nurses big tits before shoulder surgery and you come out with a boob job? F-That. BTW thats it for me...Its St. Vincent, Riverside, or Community from now on.
