What’s wrong with people?

And as soon as you say a woman is a genetically born one, or a cis one, or an adult, human female you are going to be blasted for being a transphobe whose opinion should immediately be ignored.

The Bedford Times-Mail used to have a police blotter section that was about a half page.

In it listed all of the criminal activity of the previous day.

A house was broken into, a bike was stolen, a barn was set on fire, a car was stolen, a school was vandalized, a business was broken into and had stuff stolen, an elderly woman was assaulted, public intoxication, etc.

Every day.

If all I did was read and amplify the Bedford police blotter, small Indiana town of ~12,000 people, you'd think it was the most crime infested city in the world.

Ok. But what does that have to do with the generations of feral human beings being raised in our inner cities?

We know the answer. Black marriage rates have cratered since the great society incentivized single motherhood, And single motherhood is a good way to raise a feral child.

You don't need to go full douche here. Actually never go full douche.

I know you're trying to be shocking but man, try being self deprecating a little more than attempting full douche humor.

Douche humor rarely works, it just makes you look like a douche.

Anyway if you believe marriage is the answer we could easily make it so people don't lose welfare benefits by marrying.

Yes you get more individual benefits if you claim individual status. When you get married your combined benefit decreases.

That's a quick one.

If a married couple can't make enough money to provide there is a serious problem.

People have misplaced priorities and confuse wants with needs quite frequently.

What do you think has caused this issue? Picking winners and losers with government funding?
Mega farms?
Zoning?
Automation. Overly indulgent government bennies. The rise of the rest of the world especially China and India. Absolute stupidity by Congress and both political parties in being unable to prioritize the American future instead of making rich people richer and sowing divisiveness for power and profit.

Beyond that there’s always the f*cking Canadians.

Automation has happened for centuries. That is bunk.

Second point is spot on.

China and India’s GDP’s still don’t equal ours and their growth only happens at our behest.

Our political parties reflect us. People like Paul Ryan that try to take an eye toward the future get run out of congress on a rail. McCarthy is demagogued for trying to bring a modicum of fiscal responsibility to congress.

Americans don’t want fiscal responsibility.

No one can “sow divisiveness”, if you have principles that you stay true to.

Didn't ask me but basically the war on getting government out of business affairs which led to deregulations and the obvious have and have nots that come with unbridled capitalism.

That's the game of monopoly.

The cost side advances for revenues have devastated the American working class. We're just not competitive in the labor markets and with it being a deposit only bank....each step is extremely hard to retrace once we do it.

I struggle with this because I believe in the 'fairness' of capitalism along with the winner gets the spoils reward but... sustainability is a concept that we haven't considered probably as much as we should have.

A micro example would be FanDuel. FanDuel needs people to play to have a market but if the best always win and therefore the majority of people lose money.... they'll stop playing.

So how do you keep people playing in a completely competitive market where most people lose?

I have no idea but FanDuel knows it's not sustainable so they have created sub markets where the sharks are not allowed to play and game limits..... basically government regulation trying to keep the game fair.

I don't at my core agree with that but...again the model isn't sustainable.

As 'unfair' as it is to the shark, the shark needs to consider the sustainability of their market.

I agree. Sort of like what the media does with gun violence🤫

Only a delusional person believes we are becoming increasingly deregulated. Government regulations like CRA caused the last housing crisis and the new Biden administration mortgage ****ery will cause the next one. You people don’t learn.

If you look at the numbers it’s rare for that to happen. For the past 20+ years 93% of all white couples who stay married don’t live in poverty. The number for black couples is 92%. In other words if you get a job, don’t get arrested, and stay married the chances of you living in poverty are very slim. It’s f#cking amazing how awesome capitalism and human ingenuity is for human race.

When I hear people complain about the “wealth gap”, I know I’m talking with a moron. If your standard of living is continually increasing, say your net worth increases 2x from one year to the next. That’s quite a nice boon to you, you should be happy.

If at the same time Elon Musks wealth increases 2X over that same year, well then the wealth gap just expanded, definitionally.

The only reason you would be angry about that is jealousy. That’s all the “wealth gap” is really, jealousy.

Lol, you'd be right if the shares were fairly constant, but they aren't, not even close.

The share of wealth has shifted dramatically (if everything was rising logarithmically like your example, the pie would get larger while the shares would be somewhat stable).

Denying that is idiocy.

Caring about it is up to the person but it's undeniable that fewer people are owning more and more and will continue.

Capitalism as a social construct is interesting because it's the one social hierarchy that everyone has the ability to move social classes.

It's also one where we revere and idolize the winners and we are okay where we are in the hierarchy because we believe we have the opportunity.

That's awesome and it's why I'm a big believer in capitalism. It's fairer than a monarchy (you're born into your class) or a fascist rule (you're either part of the fascist group or an outsider) or the evil socialists (there is no social hierarchy).

The problem with a capitalist society there's a ton of losing. Exponentially more people losing than winning. The pure capitalist accepts that as part of the process. The others ask how do we as a society try to remedy that?

That used to be the biggest drivers of our political differences.

No. A “loser” in a capitalist society is almost always better off than the average citizen in a socialist society.

That was something we used to agree upon. It was settled economics. Until your side didn’t realize how good they have it and decided they want more.

I will grant that our arguments used to be confined to the size of the social safety net. That’s a worthwhile argument to have.

But now we punish those with good credit and reward those with student loan debt, amnesty those that can’t pay their rent, subsidize those that can’t afford their mortgage, and punish those lessors that dare to try and collect rent.

This is quite an obvious path this administration is taking. If you can’t see it. You are a ****ing fool.

If your concern is with the increasing wealth gap then your issue isn’t with capitalism it’s with too much government spending and the increasing of the money supply/money printing. In our current system the only way to not get left behind is if you own assets. Unfortunately, the bottom half owns very few assets.

The Covid printing is a perfect example of this. The top 1% did great during Covid and drastically increased their wealth. Anyone who owned assets also did pretty well. Houses are up everywhere, stock market up, Bitcoin up, and etc. However, for those who don’t own assets, they got royally screwed. They are left with higher rents, higher costs, and high inflation. If you want to fix the issue you have to have sound money. It’s why I constantly mention Bitcoin. Governments can’t be trusted, they will always overspend.

I posted 2 charts below (disregard what they are saying, it was just the first two charts to pop up). There are numerous charts that show the same thing if you do a Google search. Something happened in the 70s to cause an increase in wealth inequality. That something was going off the gold standard in 71 and away from sound money.

Unfortunately, government Keynesians (Democrats) would have to quit spending and shrink the government to solve the problem. Instead they blame the issue, that they caused, on something else. It’s the 1%, deregulation, Republicans, and etc. And of course the answer is spend more money and enlarge the government. Fix the money and you fix the world.

Who could have ever foreseen that letting boys into girls restrooms would be an issue? Everyone with a half a brain. If you are someone that thinks that guy beating on those girls half his size is a woman because he says so, you are an idiot. Like dangerous to yourself stupid.
That's one tough girl standing up to that dude.

Agreed. Not sure “principled” would be a word of use to describe most of Congress. Especially leadership.

To be sure, I’d much rather you were in Congress. But you’re probably too smart for that. Lucy on the other hand.

I’m curious when a man will claim to be trans to join the WNBA or a similar professional league that makes pretty good money. As more and more people identify as trans, it’s only a matter of time. I’ll probably actually watch then 😂

Where are the feminists? You see that Bull dyke Rapinoe advocating for men in women’s sports?

Would she be singing a different tune if she had taken Silver to a bunch of square jawed German men in wigs?

However it is hold from a comedic perspective, see below.
