Hello and welcome to everyone who might be coming over to the board with the game tonight. It's usually pretty quiet over here. Snowling does a great job keeping everyone updated and there are a small number of us who post regularly.
Here's what you need to know about IU soccer this year: It's a defensive team-like many of Jerry's great squads. They've only given up 6 goals all year. Trey Muse is a freshman goalkeeper and Grant Lillard is an All-American defender. At 6'4'' he wins just about every ball in the air. The offense comes and goes a bit and there are a number of guys who can put the ball in the net. Mason Toye-another freshman is the leading scorer. The bench is pretty deep and Todd will sub to keep guys fresh. IU is officially undefeated, although they lost the Big Ten title game to Wisconsin on PK (it counts as a draw). Last week against Michigan State is the first time they trailed all season. This is a very young IU team, with only 2 seniors who play significant minutes. The College Cup is a toss-up. Any of the 4 teams could win it.
