We got a contender

Hostile environment? Again exhibition…so no it doesn’t matter….Win or loss. How did we play? Did we mismatch lineups to see how they play together? We showed we still struggle from the perimeter..def not a strength. Not sure what you are arguing here…
10-44 shooting from 3 in these two games is a concern, especially when that was everyone’s question mark on who he brought in.
I'd be willing to wager that IU has three 35 or better percent shooters for the season. Drawing the conclusion that IU has proven it will struggle from the perimeter is kind of a premature ejaculation on your part.

Hope so, but the shooting in those 2 exhibitions has me concerned. I'm confident Goode will get there. Who else would you think Mbako, and...? Rice?

I’d bet the house on Mack over 35%. I’d say Kanaan too. He has yet to show IU fans how good he is. He will drop 30 atleast once this year. Microwave player.

Yes. Mgbako was close to 40% in the second half of last season. Rice was good until a stretch late in the season. A lot of people chalk that up to extreme fatigue related to his cancer treatments.

Yeah, Carlyle and Goode both look a bit uncomfortable on offense so far. I didn't watch Carlyle last year except in highlights but he looks a lot more slippery than anyone we've had in awhile. I don't think talent is going to be the concern this year. I think we can face most of our concern: if you gave this roster to a good college coach, they'd be top 10 all year I believe. I hope CMW proves himself this year. Hard to watch Cignetti's amazing turnaround and not think the implications that has for our bball team if we have the right coach in place. I think Pope is looking like the real deal for UK so far.

My #1 concern for this team is Woody. Man he’s old.

Rice talks about him as a grandfather figure. Not dad, grandpa. Help us.

I know we’ve only played two exhibitions and one regular season game but offense is a concern.
As was blocking out to allow so many O rebounds, defending the 3, and our outside shooting.
Other than that, we were perfect!

Mythical?? Just the way they did it back then! Did you know back in 1943 Purdue Football went 11-0, went up to South Bend and beat Notre Dame and yet the Helms Trophy went to 10-1 Notre Dame. Wasn't always fair, but it was how things where done. But there is nothing Mythical about it, you go tell Notre Dame their Helms are not real!

Stay healthy and this team can do anything it wants. 2 of the 3 Tucker gallo Newton stay healthy, watch out.

Rice is a leader and big game player. Missed a few FT but made the important one, and the big shit right before. The steal, behind the back pass was some incredible skill stuff. Rice is probably the best guard in the league.

Kanaan has a lot of potential. He is gonna have to learn he isn’t the go to player. That one three he took was atrocious, can’t do that at IU unless you have hit 3 in a row before that.

Ballo is perfect for us. Not gonna run stuff for him other than high PNR stuff. He is so big! Had a hard matchup today and got put in his place a bit. That is good for him because he isn’t gonna see that again anytime soon. He is about to eat the next few guys thrown at him. The foul to send them to the line for a 1/1 was such a high IQ play.
Just had to post this because Cav missed one or two things.
Stay sober
Not hung over
We still wont be worth a crap.

Woody old? He's just 66 for Pete's sake. His basketball thinking might be old and out of step, he walks slowly because he probably beat the crap out of his legs, hips and back playing ball for so long, and he speaks slowly and is very low key. A lot of that is his personality. He was low key and quiet as a player. But this is not about age. It's about him stuck in the NBA mind-set and not being able to communicate well with his players. Just my opinion.

He acts with little energy or charisma. Pearl is about the same age but oozes charisma and energy.

Don’t want another spaz like CTC. But when I think about it…in terms of energy /charisma …I don’t see much difference between Woody and CAM.

If CMW wasn’t IU royal legacy…would he have survived last year?

I’m thinking no.

Tough watching him / them floundering. Loved all those guys (Woody, Tolbert, Whitman, etc) as players.

He is not only, IMO, hurting IU and it's Bball program, he is hurting his own legacy especially if this gets as ugly as I think it will.
I know I will never look at him in the same way as I did before he took the job.

I know he and most others don't care but it is a shame.
