Basketball:
The Star article in newsstand states that IU spends $545k for football recruiting and $716k for bball recruiting.
Is this a pre-determined budget before the efforts are made?
Is it based on program revenue?
Or is this just a look back after a recruiting cycle and whatever was spent was spent?
(in other words- are football program's recruiting efforts being hedged by bball expense?)
Given the fact that our football program has a much better opportunity (or chance at growth) at bringing in a larger return on investment than basketball, I'd hope the university would go all out for the best players we can obtain on the field.
How naïve am I? Please educate me.
Thanks and Go IU!
