Very good 2019-20 preview of BT rosters at

All of it was true, including asking questions that you meekly hid from rather than attempt to answer. It was a stark contrast to your taunt that I was unaware of Martha, and I tossed it back in your face. That you waved a white flag said everything. You won’t block me because your mission here is to trail behind me in an effort to instigate conflict, rather than talking IU basketball. Again, says everything about you.
Again, you babble on, but can’t provide the quote.

"Three-year standout at Muncie North High School for HOF coach Myron Dickerson… captain and team MVP averaged 19.8 points as a senior and was an all-state and academic all-state selection… Titans were 57-11 in his career, winning sectional, regional & conference titles… Under HOF coach Bob Knight, was a senior co-captain of the 1981 NCAA National Champion Indiana Hoosiers, along with two Big Ten titles, three NCAA Tournament appearances and 1979 NIT championship."

Phil Isenbarger, younger brother of John, was a fine high school player, but was not a D1 talent. He was on some very good teams, but he was a very weak player at IU.

I don't remember Isenbarger nor do I see him on any of the rosters from the '90s. Which year(s) did he play?

I'm curious about who that Oregon player was. Did he commit to IU or end up elsewhere?

The player I recalled was Mike Roberts, a 6'9" 235 lb forward from Eugene, Oregon.

He was in Knight's recruiting class, but never played for Knight. He was on the roster for all 4 years under Mike Davis. Basically never played. I really don't recall anything about his play, other than he was a white guy, very stiff & no good. Priller-like, but can't swear he was quite that bad......but maybe.

What I do remember was that he was Pat's recruit, which was very unusual. Davis got almost all the players (as far as assistants go....) toward the end of Knight's tenure.

I also specifically recall that Bob K never saw him play live before he committed. I am about 85% certain that he also never saw him on tape.

I did google him an found out a few other things about him. At one point he did live in Terre Haute....thus his interest in IU. One story did say that he talked to Bob knight 5-6 times during his recruiting. Also, when they recruited him the plan was for him to go to a prep school, which he did. After IU, he surprisingly was a GA for Knight at Texas Tech, and he has stayed in college coaching. As of 2012 he was Asst HC at UNCG. I don't know where he's at now.

Now that you say it I might vaguely recall him but I couldn't say for sure. But playing for only Davis would explain why I didn't see him on any of the rosters I looked at.

Edit: Wow, he was at IU for 5 years. But played only a little over 400 minutes in his career.

did not work out, but was loyal to Knight.

Perea was a better FT shooter than Smith.
10X the skills, ha ha, not even close. Try even less skilled in certain key areas.

Wow. That would be an alternate reality or an All-Time biggest single season improvement in IU history.
If he plays that well then IU will be very good.
I view Smith as a non-starting role player with the entire roster healthy. I expect less from Smith than last season based on his expected reduced minutes on a deeper roster of healthy players. I hope Smith makes a massive single season improvement. I want all IU players to improve. I want IU to win.

A guy who isn’t going to start isn’t going to be “our” best player. And you’re not an IU fan so cut it with the we crap.

You think Smith is going to play on the perimeter??? I thought he couldn’t shoot? There’s a reason why Smith came off the bench to end the year.

Where is Smith starting then? I answered your question. You’re talking in circles. Justin Smith will not start next year and it’s because Phinisee will be the PG, Green the SG, Hunter the 3 of healthy (if not a 3 guard lineup with Durham), TJD at 4 and Davis at 5. There’s a reason Davis started at the 5 the last third of the year and it’s because Juwan Morgan wasn’t a 5 and Smith no longer had to start at the 4 out of necessity. Really isn’t that hard if you watched IU at all last year.
Wow. These definitely didn’t age well. Talk about laying an egg...

Smith is very clearly one of our best players. Possibly our best. You guys just can’t keep the egg off your face.

Ahhh — IU wins and you want to talk about anything but the game.

Yawn.

Come back in February with that claim. Green was out. Phin didn’t start. Justin Smith did well against a shitty team. If he is IU leading scorer, will be lucky to win 15 games.

But Justin won’t. And IU will be 18+

Is your hope for the Hoosiers of 18+ in Year 3 a positive?
