I wouldn’t be surprised if they put him on scholarship.Rolijah Hardy is going to end up being the steal of last years recruiting class (also the lowest rated kid). I expect him to be Walker’s replacement as early as next year. Just has an absolute nose for the football. Jones is a solid depth place who you can plug and play. Utzinger is a walk-on from Cathedral who played on some very good teams (started with Hudson Miller who started for Purdue in the Bucket Game who is also a walk-on). Primarily a special teams guy but did have a few MAC offers coming out of high school that I was pleasantly surprised he turned down to walk-on.
I thought he already was on.... (maybe he's not)..... so, I'd be more like, shocked, if they didn't up his NIL.....I wouldn’t be surprised if they put him on scholarship.
Cig loves Landino. A year in the weight room and I think he will be really good as a Sophomore.I looked at the participation #s....do you think any of these guys can step up---OL A.Ajani (3); J. Greer (3); Cooper Jones (10); A. Leibfried (4);
DL--R. Harrison (5); Landino(10)-you mentioned him; D. Ndukwe(11); V. Sneed (3); A. Turvy (4)
that was a good game to see in Bosse Field this year.Urban said it. Even Ryan Day. Go to the highschools. I know my son playing at castle all the kids want to play defense. My son is a tackle. It’s a very thankless and hard position to project and teach.
Following the portal may be as good as following coaching changes. I like to follow both.Love checking the portal. The Arkansas red shirt freshman dual threat QB who led them over Ole Miss is in the portal.
Did I hear someone mention Big Uglies??Thinking that you're going to replace starters with F or Rs-F isn't the way this is going to work. You need to replace productive players with players who can also be at the same level of productivity.
OL and DL would absolutely be my main priorities.
Shhhhhhhhh!!!! I think this is one Cig's main secrets to his early success at IU. And I suspect it will guide him going forward. I've championed this approach for years on the bball board.Don't take another team's garbage. The last thing IU needs is a DJ Uiagalelei type of QB. Get guys who won at lower levels and are hungry for an opportunity at higher levels.
Rourke was a MAC MVP. All the JMU guys were part of an 11-1 team in the Sun Belt. ASU is riding Cam Skattebo who was a FCS All American and Big Sky offensive player of the year.
Not 100% sure just how many snaps he took this year, but it just seemed like every time he was in there, he made something happen.Rolijah Hardy makes plays, it's that simple. I think he will be very good next year!!
He’s not that great. He’s not his brotherKarlaftis from Purdue in the portal
I mean, that would describe Gabe Cupps and Anthony Leal. And they're not doing much here.Conference championships, State championships, mental attitude awards, all conference, all state, AAU tournament championships...
never mix apples and oranges like football and basketball. In Cignetti We Trust.I mean, that would describe Gabe Cupps and Anthony Leal. And they're not doing much here.
I like those two from the Nebraska Defense ... and Edge and LBWisconsin players are starting to show in the portal, CB DL and S
D tackle?Urban said it. Even Ryan Day. Go to the highschools. I know my son playing at castle all the kids want to play defense. My son is a tackle. It’s a very thankless and hard position to project and teach.
Tf is a TB?DB doesn't look bad with Ponds; Bonds; Jo Jo Johnson; Jamier Johnson; Ferrell, Sharpe??
LB doesn't look bad at all with Fisher, I. Jones (coming on), Hardy (potential star). Just need depth. A kid named Jeff Utzinger played in 12 games. Will he be a player??
Obviously you want stars anywhere, but I'd say QB is biggest need, followed OL & DL; TE; TB; WR; LB; DB
At WR Charlie Becker played in 11 games, so he might get some PT. Need a couple guys for depth there. Basically same at TB with Black & Green (if he returns), TE would be a place for a star to step in as a starter, but you do have Bomba, Foley & West, who will all probably be ok as reserves.
Someone mentioned we might have 18 portal spots--If so I'd go 1 QB, 3 OL, 5 DL, 3 WRs, 2 TBs, 2 LBs, 2 DBs based on current roster.
no guard does anything here. Every guard that transferred out has had dramatic improvement immediately the first year outside of that 5 star from Jeff/New Albany area that went to Western Kentucky. our ball coach is just ass.I mean, that would describe Gabe Cupps and Anthony Leal. And they're not doing much here.
That's thinking too narrowly, in my opinion. Sure, there will be some of that, but I'd guess 90% of our targets won't fit that description.Need a search function of all guys in the portal who were offered by JMU while Cig was there
Now...not IndianaInjuries knocked him out of their lineup two years in a row. ACL last year, concussion this year. Looks like he didn't win it back this year. Hope he recovers fully. First Michigan, then Iowa, now...?
I would rather roll Grant Gremel back outCade McNamara is in the transfer portal
And California is almost Canada...sorta.I expect Kadin Semonza Ball State QB to enter the portal in the coming days. R-Fr this year lead the MAC in Yards, YPG, and TD's--would have 3 years of eligibility left. From power house Mission Viejo out in Orange County
Last seen QBing St. Francis of Ft. Wayne.I would rather roll Grant Gremel back out
How does a MV kid end up at Ball State???I expect Kadin Semonza Ball State QB to enter the portal in the coming days. R-Fr this year lead the MAC in Yards, YPG, and TD's--would have 3 years of eligibility left. From power house Mission Viejo out in Orange County
Never underestimate the drawing power of Middletown USAHow does a MV kid end up at Ball State???
Worked with Dave Portnoy who pledged some alsoI heard it was some random donor from Illinois that sent the 12Mill for this QB because his wife likes Michigan or something.
