Transfer Portal Targets

Another name to keep an eye on. Threw for 6600 yards and 60 TDs in 2 seasons at Albany as an FCS All-American. Transferred to Miami this last season and was thought to be the starter before the Hurricanes won the Cam Ward sweepstakes. From Maryland and originally committed to Old Dominion, guessing this is a name the staff is very familiar with dating back to their JMU days. He definitely the production over potential type.

He also played his senior year at Mt Vernon in Fortville. Was quite a weapon, especially in the end zone. Hard for high school DBs to defend 6'7" receivers. Looks like he's taken it to another level at BSU. Logan also played at MV a few years earlier. Tanner's very familiar with Indiana.
Sounds like Illinois is going pretty hard after him fwiw

Waiting for the Big Uglies and defensive line size and speed targets to announce they are visiting Indiana!

QB is the most important position but honestly not worried at all if Cig and Shanahan get 'stuck' with two quality redshirt freshman and a solid upperclassman. If we can keep them, pretty sure our staff can get a lot of production out of them.

Not going to complain if they pull somebody great in of course. But I'm hoping to see that bigger, faster upgrade in the trenches, DE, DB/LBs, etc that they can coach up to even higher levels. So that Urban Meyer won't comment on the pregame eyetest outclassing us. Jimmies and Joes always helps. But man do they cost a lot at some of those positions these days. But with 'moneyball' ... Maybe the skill positions are the best value, I don't know. Outscoring isn't a bad way to go. Still need great linemen.

Ole Miss is throwing gobs of money at the top OL DL players. Looks like they got 3 of the 4 “top” lineman in the portal.

What a waste of talent...

On paper that group that they brought in last year should have been undefeated... How they lost to 4-8 KY, 8-4 LSU and 7-5 FL is difficult to understand...

If Kiffen couldn't win Bigly at Ol'Miss with this years team I wouldn't expect better results from him in the future...

Portal entrants who are serious about competing for Championships should look elsewhere (in my opinion),,,

I believe Indiana's staff is playing portal candidates close to the vest, so as not to tip off other teams their genuine interest. Looks like several Big Ten teams are offering productive, smaller school players ala Coach Cignetti's blueprint. The difference is Coach has the "it" that separates the competition.

How the hell does Ole Miss have more NIL than IU?
From On3:

. The Grove Collective (Ole Miss)

In just two years, Walker Jones and The Grove Collective changed the tenor of NIL conversations around the Ole Miss campus. The NIL entity was playing major catch-up when Jones arrived in the fall of 2022.

Since then, Jones has emerged as a leader in the space. He was a Congressional witness last fall. He’s led the Grove Collection Week over the last two years, raising millions in a matter of days while working hand-in-hand with Ole Miss. Jones told On3 the collective now has more than 6,000 members.

“I hate to admit it, but Ole Miss’ marketing strategy is impressive,” a fellow SEC NIL collective said.

The Grove Collective is beginning to take steps to move from a booster-funded collective to a school-financed third-party agency ahead of revenue sharing. With the beginning of the 12-team College Football Playoff, Ole Miss heavily invested in this year’s roster, landing top transfer defensive tackle Walter Nolen and wide receiver Juice Wells, among others.
