The random donor is Larry Ellison, the 3rd richest person in the world. Ugh.

The wild thing with NIL is the amounts aren’t that big to any billionaire or hundred millionaire. If any of them really want to, they can buy a team. Thankfully we have two on our side.

Proposition is for the 2025-2026 calendar year so next season.....but I am not sure that is has been officially approved and/or finalized.

Either way, James Bomba who may not return (12 career receptions) and Sam West (1 career reception) is the only returning production at the TE spot next year. You can take it to the bank that Cig and staff will be adding a TE in the portal. I hope it's the Ball State kid who has IU ties.

So, may not be an option, but ya never know. Could develop into a big time player and how sweet would it be to have him lead us to a win over osu? 😁

Would be interesting. If one of the young QB's follows Sunseri to UCLA, this guy would be an option. I do not see Cig taking another young QB without one leaving.

My guess is that we go after these positions in the Portal:

6-7* on Offense:

QB, Slot, TE, C, G, T, *(and if we lose a backup QB, we either pick up another OL who can play all 3 positions, or..., a WR)


7 on Defense:

NG/DT, 3Tech DT, DE, LB, S, LS, P

Should be interesting to watch this play out; Cignetti is playing his cards close to his vest on this one... I'm guessing he already realizes that there are "name" schools out there whose slots at the top we are now threatening to take (both within the Big Ten and nationally) who would happily take a guy they think we need (if they had a free scholarship) just to "cover our sails" and change the dynamics and the narrative a bit...

Makai Jackson App State is an interesting follow. Was a fellow true freshman at St. Francis with Sarratt. Sarratt as a true freshman had 42 catches for 700 yards and 13 TDs while Jackson had 85 catches for 991 yards and 9 TDs. Just insane production for true freshman. Hell sign up that QB if he’s anywhere out there lol.

He also played his senior year at Mt Vernon in Fortville. Was quite a weapon, especially in the end zone. Hard for high school DBs to defend 6'7" receivers. Looks like he's taken it to another level at BSU. Logan also played at MV a few years earlier. Tanner's very familiar with Indiana.
