Odd triggered response to a simple logical question. Why would it matter?
I really don't understand people's issue with LEO. It isn't why he failed here

Unbelievably stupid and myopic to refer to him as a failure.Good for him. I'd much prefer to work for Dabo than Franklin. Sounds like he got a nice raise too. Pretty wild that our failed HC is still in such high regards to get two premier DC positions in back to back years.
BG hardly needs my help, but that isn't what he said.Unbelievably stupid and myopic to refer to him as a failure.

See Bud FosterYeah, at some point the money is just keeping score.
I'd think the sweet spot would be a top tier OC/DC at a successful program. Make crazy good money without the microscope the HC is under, all while living in a college town/environment and big chunks of time off in the off season.

Rumblings on Twitter that PSU is trying to get Bryant Haines to replace TA. I hope we can match any offer they make him.
Probably the same people who insisted Cignetti would be gone after this season.Rumblings on Twitter that PSU is trying to get Bryant Haines to replace TA. I hope we can match any offer they make him.
This is behind a paywall but my guess is this where they are getting the info on Haines interviewing with PSU from.
One program recruits 4 and 5-stars with regularity. The other one is us.This is the moment of truth for IU. Will they try to compete with Penn State financially?
Not sure what the appeal of Penn State is over IU right now other than maybe a slightly higher salary.
One program loses every big game they play, and their fans boo the head coach. The other is led by the national COY recipient, beloved by a growing fan base, who is building “an emerging superpower” and will soon be consistently recruiting the aforementioned 4 and 5-stars.One program recruits 4 and 5-stars with regularity. Apparently Haines doesnt need 4 and 5 star talent to be a good coach. One program recruits 4 and 5-stars with regularity. The other one is us.
I don't want to lose the guy either, but it doesn't change the fact that, for now, they're still Penn State and we're still Indiana. And there are differences in the programs that go beyond whether we can match salary or not.Apparently Haines doesnt need 4 and 5 star talent to be a good coach.
Other coaches get the best team money can buy and get embarrassed at home.
