Personally, I am not try,ing to change your feelings towards IU basketball. I have learned over the past 30+ years that there is nothing I can say that will change certain peoples' minds or feelings towards IU basketball, so I no longer even try. If you chose t be unhappy and not enjoy IU basketball that is your choice. And, i don't mind people being unhappy.
What bothers me the most is the lack of civility here. It bothers me to see IU fans personally attacking other IU fans who may have a different opinion. I feel similar to the way I feel when Mrs. Org and I are visiting another couple and they get into a heated domestic argument in front of us.
It was a magnificent jungle back in the day.

With things the way they are, I would question whether there should be a season this year or maybe even next. However, to defend horrible results thus far for what we pay is disingenuous. He needs to be fired, but I completely understand why that probably won't happen this year, and honestly maybe shouldn't. Realize, this is somebody that took the job under FG's realistic expectations of "B10 Championships and deep tourney runs". Are we anywhere close to that? Where will be next year with 0 recruiting and probable transfers of TJD and Lander. The former for lack of development and the latter because he went out of his way to come early for 0 PT
Geez, this is not a Sound of Music website/thread so we can hug it all out. It's a college basketball forum to to debate, disagree, and discuss our opinions of where the IU program is and where it's going. If you want to sit around the campfire and sing Kumbaya then maybe your looking in the wrong place. I disagree with many posts on here and I'm sure many disagree with mine, but if you want me to never be critical of where I see the program headed then that's not gonna happen. As a lifelong fan I have the right to an opinion right or wrong. If your happy and content with IU's decline the past several years that's your right to feel so, I on the other hand am not, and won't just sit idly by saying "oh we'll get em next year". That kind of mentality has us where we are now, at the bottom of the B1G.
Dude...recruiting isn't remotely good enough and recruiting is 75% of the game. Look at the programs around us, now in our own conference and look at the talent level.
Purdue has better talent level than IU, on a consistent basis. If that isn't troubling to you, you're either brainless or clueless. They're bigger, stronger, quicker. TJD is likely gone. Duncombe is likely going to be a good player. You think he's going to be TJD level good next year? Where do you see this team finishing next season?
Look at Illinois' talent level compared to IU. You're probably going to see it first hand tonight.
Granted not all of it is Archie's fault. He's had some bad luck with injuries but much like Clappy the Clown, recruiting is getting worse. You honestly don't get that?
We're not at the Grant Gelon level......yet. Give it 2 years and we will be.
The good news is, I don't even watch that often anymore so I'm not nearly as invested as I used to be, but if you believe Archie is the guy that's going to make IU a contender, I have a feeling you're going to be proven dead wrong.
...and that sucks to write.
Oh and let me add, I hated Clappy. Loathed him.
I like Archie. A lot.
But he's not the guy. It isn't gonna happen.
