Tired of the Archie hate.

Really! Every poster on here wants a different coach so how you going to unite shit.
See, here's the thing: Who is a "proven" coach -- and what do we want him to have "proven?" From where I sit, there seem to be at least several different answers to those questions.

Yeah it would be, so give the guy a chance. The revolving door of firing a coach every 3-4 years because they don't produce immediate results with leftovers from the prior regime ain't it either.

Last coach was here 9 years.. before that the guy was fired for cheating. Why does everyone think IU fires the coach every 3-4 years.. that’s not reality

It was slightly exaggerated but when Archie was hired 2 years ago it was the 4th coach in 17 years which on average means we're hiring a new coach just about every 4 years. People are already looking to run Archie out of town after year 2. Looking for a 5th coach in a 20 year period is in no way a good recipe for establishing a winning culture, let alone sustaining one. My point stands.

Archie would be more successful at another school that doesn’t handcuff his ability to do his job. He made a mistake coming here. The administration at IU has absolutely no intention of winning. At least he will get paid plenty.

Just exactly how does tthe school handcuff his ability to do his job?

The nice new facilities?
The high salary?
The large recruiting budget?

This is a business. IU's athletic department reported $122,933,136 in revenues and $116,277,652 in expenses last year, according to documents obtained by IndyStar. That’s all they care about!

What evidence do you have to support your assertion?

Not to argue one way or another on Miller, but when have we had a 3 or 4 year revolving door? Going back to Everett Dean we have had 3 coaches who coached less than 5 years. Kelvin Sampson (sanctions), Jerry Oliver (interim year), and Harry Good (WW2). This idea that Indiana does not give coaches a chance is asinine. Mike Davis got 6 and Tom Crean got 9. Sampson only got 2 but that was his fault for the phone calls and running a program that was bringing in a criminal element so that nobody wanted to protect him. Watson got 5 years (split with one interim year by Oliver.) You have to go back to the early 1920's to find a real revolving door.

Archie is probably going to get 4 to prove himself but anybody thinking he did not dig himself a very big hole this past year is kidding themselves...and recruiting appears to be slowing down now too. The roster has the same glaring needs it had last year and they were not really addressed. If we end up with a roster as it stands today, Miller is going to have to pull off a Coach of the Year type of job to keep off the hot seat.

And I would say the rules that IU currently has in place about things like grad transfers is severely hampering the program. Frankly, I also question what the Adidas sponsorship of the school is getting us as well, it is clear they steered high end kids to our competitors and they are now going to have a bright light on them that will hamper them from continuing to "influence" in the manner Nike is. I think the program is in big trouble. We are placing a bunch of eggs in the hope basket for players who could not get their sh*t together last year to suddenly have a light go off. That could happen (look at Purdue this year) but would anyone lay money right now on the team as it is constructed?

What rules at IU hampers grad transfers?

It fits their narrative. But people who think you should not be highly critical of a coach who has not made the NCAA and whos recruiting has seem to hit a brick wall also dont see things clearly. Archie has not proven a thing yet in two years so people should be critical. If he starts winning that will change.

He is the only one out of hundreds on here.
1>0. cryano claimed 0 when he used the term "nobody." I also recall 1 other person Liked that post calling for people to root for losses. So that would make 2 (which is also greater than 0).

I don’t agree with everything he does, but I’m not sitting around trying to figure out how to get rid of him. I’ve been done with the bashing of him long ago. If some of you are that hell bent on him not being good, then you don’t have to post here and can follow someone else. I’m not happy with the current state of Indiana Basketball but I’ve come to realize the past several months that there is a lot of blame to go around. Including us fans.
You're right It's our fault...we need to be patient with the never ending rebuild. Why would we come to a message board in the middle of the off-season except to ensure Archie's failure? After all what we say on this free message board has a direct impact on Archie's ability to do his job well.

3 to 4 years is never ending? Oh shut the f****** up.

Looks like the ditch diggers were feisty when they got off work today...

I see you're posting and drinking again. I'd love to see you tell @Stellara1 to stfu in real life.

Just like Michael Corleone, i keep trying to get out but the douches keep dragging me back in...lol

2 years in with a coach who solved the tourney riddle at freaking Dayton and these guys would rather douche it up before letting it play out....f****** garbage.

We are more strict academically on what we would allow for a grad transfer from what I have heard.

I would need to read something from an IU source not just "hear" it. You know, something official.

Maybe you should do some research before proclaiming

I think the free football board has helped Fred Glass do his job better.

Ya it’s almost like he got better at coaching...

But keep up the douche act 2 years in. Keep reinforcing what we already know about you...

So well that he parlayed it into getting hired by Detroit...

Ha - solved the tourney riddle!

That's on you to believe what you will. I saw it from a source that I found to be credible at the time but I cannot find it now, and no offense, this is a message board about basketball so it is not worth me putting too much effort into tracking it down again.

Do you honestly believe that a message board has shaped policy at IU?

He put the names back on the jerseys. He approved beer and wine sales in the stadium. He said he did that because the feedback from the fans. I’m not saying this board shaped policy. But these views were stated on this board. And again he said he was listening to the fans. So you can draw your own conclusions.

IU football season ticket holders were given a survey in the offseason about attitudes and beliefs of improving the IU gameday experience...Id lean towards that data as what Glass and the department based changes on.
There may be many on this site who shared their opinions in the survey too.

Nobody here hates Archie.
Nobody here wants IU to lose.

People may not like the results that Archie has coached the Hoosiers to, or be sold on Archie to the answer, or even as an upgrade over the previous coach.

Archie doing better will help Archie.
Like I didnt quit being an IU fan when IU released Coach Knight - I wont quit being an IU fan when IU retains Archie. That doesnt mean I have to agree w the decision.
Wrong. You and your butt buddy fukpug want IU basketball losing games. Stop lying

I knew nothing about a survey. That is a good move by Glass and I am glad he made changes from the feedback given.

I will believe if I see it from a credible source.
Just saying that you heard it is not what I would call credible.

Pay for a head football coach with winning head football coaching experience.

But isn’t one of the two negative all the time?

Therefore:

-1 + 1 = 0

Math works perfectly . . . :D

Fpaugh. Perhaps you can bring some kind of actual basketball insight here instead of just crying about IU all the time.

Sounds like you know Stellara1 so if Hondo 314 held a pistol on him when he told him to STFU would Hondo 314 likely survive or not survive the encounter?

Is this the only dumb question you have for today?

Considering Stellara1 is a super hero, I wouldn’t like Hondo’s chances.

You do realize Detroit is ineligible next season due to poor APR, right?
What does that have to do with anything?
Davis still was taking TX Southern to the real NCAA tourney yearly...you raved abt Archie ‘solving the tourney riddle’ at Dayton.
