The auto byes given to lower seeded Boise St and ASU. Had they just gone by straight rankings we would have had a home game against Boise and we would be likely heading to the Rose Bowl to play Oregon if we won. I hope that changes in the future. It has given Penn State an easier road to the semifinal than Oregon.

Your absolutely right I think it's all interconference politics and tv involvement.

Yes, there is something definitely wrong when the 6th seed has an easier road than the #1 seed to the semi’s. In fact, Penn St. has the easiest road of all to the semifinals. However, Texas as the 5 seed also has an easy road to the semifinals. So the top two seeds have one less game, but a tougher go than seeds 5 & 6. That’s ridiculous.

Also, IU is getting most of the criticism from this, but I bet you IU would beat Boise State by at least 3 TD’s if they played on a neutral field. BSU doesn’t have the 4/5 star line play that would give IU troubles, like OSU and ND did.

Is Notre Dame not available for a top 4 seed? They were easily qualified this year. Boise and ASU should have been the lowest seeds

Just my opinion, but I think ALL first round games should be neutral sites (preferably indoors so weather isn’t a factor), and each team should be allotted the same amount of tickets. Second round games are bowl games in nice weather or indoors with no home field advantage, why should first round games have a home field advantage?

You think Boise and Arizona State should be seeded ahead of Notre Dame or Texas or Ohio State?
Boise State will have the same problems IU faced, line play will be dominated by an ND, Texas, and OSU and they’ll likely be curb stomped. Penn St. is +11 in the early line, so why seed a team in the top 4 if they’re a 2 score underdog in their first game? Can you imagine an NCAA tournament #1 seed being the underdog before the Sweet 16? The tournament committee would catch hell if that were the case.

I like the 12 team format but the seeding needs fixed.

I do too, but right now there are maybe 5 of 6 programs that can actually win it all. A 12 team playoff is exciting, however there will always be several teams who can’t hang with the best. You really can’t imagine in football matchups like FDU/Purdue, where there could be an upset with a tiny program beating a major one. Football just doesn’t work the same as basketball.

One of those this year is Ohio State…they are seeded 8th. They need to do the seeding properly. Award the best teams and have a tournament. I’m probably in the minority but I think the first round games should be at the higher seeded teams stadium. Award the teams for having the better year.

I do not have a problem with top seeds playing at home, if it is truly seeded (no automatic seeding). But visiting team should get at least 25% of tickets

I can live with the higher seeds playing at home in the first round, but all tickets should be split 50/50 between both schools.
