I've been trying for months to find a good one, but I think this is another one of those songs that just can't be covered. Props to this guy for the effort, but it's just not it.
For any Charley Crockett fans he’s playing Evansville on May 7th and Brown County music center on the 8th.
This version of I’d Rather Go Blind gives me chills every time. This performance really kickstarted Beth’s career again. For me she’s a modern day Janis. Lots of drugs and alcohol, she’s documented how she’s bi-polar and how she fights everyday to overcome this illness. She’s got grit and an inspiration. You can see how at the end of the performance she gives a big sigh of relief.

Nice find! Loved that. I missed seeing her last time she was in Indy a couple years ago or so. I was just introduced to her and didn't want to put down the money. That's why i used to love finding new up and coming artists at small clubs. Back in the day you could get away with just paying $5-$10. Man I'm old. Seems ticket inflation has far exceeded most everything else.
Even from the most ridiculous premise, he could craft a beautiful song.

The most underrated band and musician there is. This song is incredible and this performance is epic.
I caught them at a music festival early mid 90s - don't remember which - where they came on stage didn't say a word, played everything at a tempo much faster than the recorded version with no break in-between songs. Then ended with a super slow version of Imagine and walked off... it was... weird.
I love the lyrics. They call out manufactured music for what it is, meaningless regurgitated lyrics and hooks.
