the US has two different approaches to Iran and neither is great. one is to not make deals, be more aggressive, and then watch them quickly build a nuclear bomb. the other is to make deals, be more passive, and then watch them slowly build a nuclear bomb. pick your poison but you do have to pick. this is another regime we can't sanction out of existence or really threaten with direct attack but we could pick an approach and stick with it for more than four years...
An approach like isolating them in their region by building relations between enemies to face the shared threat of Iran? Or the approach that still ends with them nuclear armed, they are not our "ally", and neither are any of the other petro producing states in the region. That's the Iran appeasement end state.
I agree we need to pick one, but the choice should be the option that at least has some chance of success. The Obama/Biden kiss Iran's ass strategy is not it.
you could be right. I'm torn on it but my 401k definitely doesn't want Israeli fighters shooing missiles into Iran's underground nuclear facilities considering all the predicted and unforeseen consequences that would come from that.
