The IU President and Board of Trustees need to grow some!!

This goes under the Archie apologist thread but think about our recruiting classes.

Seniors- Bryant (5 star), OG (low ranked 3 star), Morgan (low ranked 3 star).

This was Crean's last great class. Only problem is Bryant and OG left leaving Morgan who is a monster.

Fitzner is a one year total bust.

Juniors - Davis (top 50 4 star), Curtis Jones (top 50 4 star), Green (unranked 3 star).

Jones was a bust and transferred. Davis can't get on the floor due to health reasons so he's a bust so far. Green is hot and cold, returning unranked 3 star expectations.

Sophomores - Smith (top 100 4 star), Moore (top 120 4 star at the last minute), Durham (unranked 3 star). Too early to tell but none of the three have played over their ranking.

Freshmen - Romeo (high 5 star), Hunter (top 40 4 star), Thompson (top 100 4 star, Phinesse (top 120 4 star/3 star), Damezi (top 120 4 star/3 star), Forrester (top 140 3 star/4 star).

Romeo is a beast but gone after this year. Hunter is a medical bust. Thompson is a medical bust. Phinesse has been a surprise. Damezi and Jake are TBD.

So 1 senior, a busted Junior class, and average sophomore class playing to their ranking and a couple more medical busts gets you a starting lineup of Romeo/Juwan and then a mess of unranked/low ranked dudes with all the busts we have.

That busted Junior class is a kick in the nuts. It's hard on a program when only 1 of 7 potential upperclassmen is productive (okay 2 if you count Green).
Spot on.

BTW - you're really gonna count Green as productive? o_O

Who is the answer, big boy? Don't just bitch, let's hear your answer. Or, you can go camp out on Brad's front lawn and give him a boombox serenade.

Should have put a full court press on Donovan.

Look - it’s not the losing that bothers me. It’s the lack of any mental toughness that comes from the staff. Archie stands there as players give no effort. I’m beginning to think that some of this injury stuff may be also a culture that is acceptable to the coach. “Oh, you got kicked in the leg? That’s okay. You can take the rest of the game off.” There is zero tenacity or mental toughness when the game starts and that’s like 80% of the time from this staff. We have two future NBA players and the rest of these guys play with no sense of desire or urgency. Send them a message and sit them. A good coach would say “enough” and chew their ass at some point. This isn’t a participation trophy league.

It's quite obvious that coaching in the NBA is much more desired than in college, mainly because of recruiting and time.

Donovan isn't coming back to college until he's fired no matter how much money you throw at him.

Actually I don't think there has ever been a current NBA head coach leave his position for a college job.

We had as much of a chance of having the night king resurrect John Wooden to coach us as Donavon.

don't tell UK fans any of this about Billy the Kid; they still think he's just a phone call away once the Squid departs...

devin davis can't get on the floor so he's a bust for medical reasons? what the hell does that mean?

It means he's not contributing, and in his case at all because he's always hurt.

That's why Davis is a bust.

When he was recruited we thought we got a very highly ranked big who was gifted offensively. What we got was a guy who can't stay on the floor because of his health.

That makes him a bust.
