I’ve never been impressed with them at any rank. Conspiratorial-minded, unable to take others’ input, and inferiority complexes by not being front-line combat troops. They fit Flynn and Mastriano to a T.

I’ve led completely worthless ops because of their incompetence. A good Intel officer is one that can say “I don’t know.” And I never met one.

The Intel sergeants and enlisted guys were mostly fine. Humble and with good intentions - led by loons.

That guy is spouting dangerous Christian Nationalism ideology. If u truly understand what it is which is exactly what he tells u it is. Hate the other if they do not share your beliefs. That goes against biblical teachings. And lest we forget Christ was a Jew. Guess he’s not welcome in this guys warped Christian Nationalist world. How does anyone of faith take him seriously. Oh yeah, if I’m a soldier in a life and death battle I only want those who share my bigoted views by my side. The idea that the founding fathers were all Christian is a complete fallacy. Washington, Franklin,Madison, practiced a faith called Deism. Thomas Payne was a naturalist deist panatheist. The constitution does not mention god. The Declaration of Independence does. Some believe that the founding fathers religious beliefs r front and center in the Declaration of Independence but God given rights had less to do with theology in 1776 than with rebellion. Neither document says that anyone who isn’t a Christian is evil. Can’t believe people swallow this dangerous drivel.

I think there’s a signal in this but also a lot of noise. I don’t yet believe “Christian Nationalism” to be anything but a fringe movement and is the new liberal media conservative bogeyman. Time may prove me wrong, but that we’re nearing the midterms and the state media is now warning about CN tells me they’re inventing/exaggerating something.

You are correct, most of the FF were not Christians - they were Deists. And I agree with you that there is no place for anything other than total separation of church and state. But criticizing Islamofascism or the havoc that some immigrants are having on other nations doesn’t make one a Christian Nationalist.

I'm Christian. Torba and Mastriano are embarrassments to Christianity.

Gab is a platform for far-right haters, including those who have been banned from other platforms. The site is filled with antisemites, white nationalists, and neo-Nazis. One of its users was the mass shooter who shot up the synagogue in Pittsburgh a few years back, killing 11.

And I definitely know people on Gab. So do you. Some are here. Of course, none will admit it. And none of them would have a problem with anything in Torba's quote I cited.

I mean just because you say it doesn’t make it true. I’d need to know number of active users (not bots and not people who downloaded it and don’t use it) on Gab. I suspect it’s a very small number.
 
The most concerning aspect of Mastriano is the fact that he won a Republican primary. The least concerning aspect is he is 10 points down.

Better educate yourself. Dangerous ideology that a group of ministers r speaking out against. If u read the attached article u would clearly c that he hates all others that r not his brand of Christian. Jews included and as I pointed out Christ was Jewish.

It may b a small number but these things take on a life of their own on the internet. Look no further than Qanon for the evidence of how that can permeate a society. As I’ve posted before, we have a woman in r neighborhood who believe that children are being held captive under the sidewalks by evil democratic pedophiles. That’s the wackiest but she has other conspiracy theories. I just walk away from her.

In the interest of full disclosure, after growing up in the evangelical church, nothing makes me happier to be agnostic than seeing how the church (broadly speaking) has been co-opted by some truly awful people and how the church has been corrupted by politics to the extent that, depending on the candidates, a pastor can stand in the pulpit and go on about how character counts, morality matters, and a leader’s relationship with Jesus is paramount.

And it’s sad/funny that one of the gifts of the spirit is supposed to be discernment and so many people being taken for a ride by evil people without a single Christ-like character trait makes me think they have no more of a relationship with Jesus than they do with a man on the moon.
