He was at a 9/11 commemoration in Shanksville, and gave a speech about bipartisan unity after 9/11, and how the country should get back to that. Then he and a Trump supporter good-naturedly traded hats as a demonstration of that unity. It was like trading jerseys after a soccer match. That's it.
Some people in this country need to lighten up/get a sense of humor.
There was also this from 3 years ago. He's so senile he has no idea what hat he's wearing.

Maybe the takeaway is that he is a president for all americans and not just those who support(ed) him.
