You shouldn't be so cavalier about this. An armed gang member or drug dealer in Chicago is no threat to you, your kids or grandkids. A mass shooter is, though. So is an armed road rage driver you might inadvertently cut off. So is an armed, drunk, angry neighbor you might piss off.

Isn't it those claiming to be worthy of asylum which are the current big problem ? Not those already functioning as citizens without proper documentation who might already be armed but not necessarily dangerous.

The problem is, we have LAWS that accept 1 million people into our society, with a well pronounced procedure. Good news! Texas Republican (naturally) says prayers DO stop mass shootings!!! Then he starts talking about mental illness (for which Republicans have no policy solutions, regardless of how much they drone on about it). I think if you think some invisible being in outer space, apparently, is stopping mass shootings, he may be the one who needs to seek mental health help. Come to think of it, why isn't god stopping mental illness?
