Good morning. I headed down to Bloomington for football practice this morning. I got to see close to an hour of practice today. Here are a few notes:
1. The team was in the indoor facility today (cold and sunny outside)
2. As has been the MO under Cignetti the practice is all business as the team transitioned seamlessly between drills (team scoring zone, individual tackling, ball security drills)
3. This is the first time I have seen IU's quarterbacks throw in person and I was impressed. Fernando Mendoza can spin it and is accurate. Younger brother Alberto has cleaned up his throwing motion and really showing his arm talent. ODU transfer Grant Wilson can also throw the ball confidently. It would seem IU has three quarterbacks who the coaches should have confidence letting them throw the ball.
