Next Season By Class

We will have losses to the portal over money. A lot of guys on that list are worth way more this year than last, and will leave for a better paycheck.

I’m sure our NIL budget has gone up some but I don’t see any way we can pay everybody what they will be worth now as all B1G guys or whatnot. There will be a bidding war for a few of these guys.

I think you’re underestimating how much NIL money there is here.

As will be for any top 15 team. Lose some buy some. Evaluations will really count the utmost and Cignetti and staff are top notch. IUFB will definitely upgrade for 2025.

Sure, the price of poker has gone up. To improve talent levels. And, seems like NIL inflation has been massive in the last year!

All of a sudden so many other schools joining the party to bid for the mid-major talent, seeing they get left out if they don't. And power schools outbidding each other for the true blue chips also raises the boat for whoever is left. Expensive...

Hope we can play. It helps to win though. Kids still want to go where they believe they'll have good and stable coaches.

Cig said that he's going to stay at the 85 number because you go over that and they automatically cut your revenue share down by 2.5 million.

He said a poll showed most teams are going to be doing what he's doing.
What do you mean by revenue share?

Kids are going to start getting part of the revenue starting in 2025... each school gets a little over 20 million (i think that's the number) to split how each school wants to.
$22mil I believe is the cap for the B10 with the SEC having a similar figure. Thats why being a P2 school is such a huge advantage going forward. Should be noted that schools aren’t obligated to allocate 100% of the cap but you’re at a recruiting disadvantage if you don’t. Will be interesting to see how it is distributed amongst all the different teams. Would bet IU needs to commit at least 75% to the football team.

Oh, I thought the rev share allocations by sport might be set by the settlement, NCAA, or conferences — sort of a formula to make sure the teams generating revenue get the rev share and prevent future legal issues. I guess it’s up to the schools.

As others have said, seems like 80% or so would go to FB. Pretty crazy how much FB roster payrolls are going to increase next year.

Bball heavy schools like UConn and Gonzaga will be interesting. They won’t hit the cap, and I’ll be curious what they manage to send to their bball programs.
