Its a shame he never tested himself at the Prem. If the likes of Zola, David Silva etc can thrive there its certainly not as physical as he thinks it is.

It would be odd for him to move back to Rosario or anywhere in Argentina unless he has political ambitions. Been in Barcelona for so long (like 20yrs), -- I know I wont be too bothered.

What is the % of clubs/games that play on non-grass surfaces ie concrete with carpet on top in the MLS? That wont help his knees.

The vast majority are grass.
Edit: I misunderstood your reply. You were very close - only 6 are not grass if you exclude the two that are hybrid grass/turf. I did not realize FC Cincinnati is hybrid. It seems very much the equivalent of regular grass.

Ironically, Charlotte replaced their grass with FieldTurf prior to their MLS team due to the extra wear from soccer.The vast majority are grass.

Seems to be equivalent to grass in terms of cushion, feel, etc. I know they water the field before games and at halftime, as we got sprayed last year at a game when they had the sprinklers set wrong.
I learned something as well today. Even looked it up. We live in interesting times.
So impressed with the lack of seams anymore. I remember watching some doc on the Eagles and they were talking about Veteran's stadium and it was literally astroturf over like an inch of rubber and then concrete.

Here’s one for ya. The great Angelo dibernardo led iu to the ncaa final in 76. He went on to play for the New York cosmos. Then did a tour in MISL when it was poppin. He shredded his knee on a seam in the turf in our old arena. My buddy filed a comp claim for him. The steamers told him to F off. He went to circuit court and reduced the comp claim to a judgment and went in with a construction crew and ripped out all the turf and sold it to either eastern or western Illinois
It’s getting WAY better. I think our best mls teams would compete in the championship in England. The problem is the rosters lack balance. The money isn’t there yet at the low end

The scousers are a weird bunch anyway. The one time I was there, at the Kop End, they were all shouting in unison telling the club captain to 'feck off'. Imagine 30,000 fans shouting that at you!! Must be soul-destroying for the poor guy.
(And yes, I didn't wear my United kit. I loved life then and still do.)
