So, So Glad Archie Is Our Coach

I’d like to send Brohm a Christmas card. Do you have his Louisville address?
You are the most special, smartest guy in the whole wide world, and other people just can't stand it and hate you for it. When you repeat yourself over and over again, it has the magical power of making anything you say fact and people just can't get enough of it. You are God's gift to the free IU basketball message board and the bestest IU fan there is.

100% truth.

The culture was a mess. The "Movement" never was on the same page as the veterans in 2013, part of the reason that season ended early (among others).

Crean's answer was to run guys, but he never held anyone accountable. Hell, a guy sent Crean a tweet in December 2013 that Hanner was driving Yogi around town while drunk that was ignored (The guy re-tweeted it to Crean the morning Hanner was arrested). And Hanner got what for blowing a 0.15? TWO GAMES!!

Then don't forget Yogi and Stan getting busted trying to use fake ID's. Later that summer, Troy and Stan both flunked drug tests.

Crean is damn lucky Davis didn't die Nov 2014. He's also lucky he wasn't fired then. Had I been AD, he would have.
Bump.

New coach, seemingly same problems.

Better start changing your narrative.

I'm still on Cloud Nine that Archie is the head coach at Indiana. We needed someone to recruit talent in the state better. Check. We needed someone to vastly improve our defense. Check. We needed a coach to build a program based on character and toughness. Check. We needed a better basketball tactician. Check. No basketball team is perfect - especially a young one beset by injuries, but boy, oh boy, I think our program is in good hands. I hope he's here for the next 30 years, we win a bunch of games and a handful of national championships.
Bump

Archie is ok but just ok. But he seems like he’s out of his depths a bit.

He’ll be fired or quit after year 4 as long as Fred doesn’t give another idiotic extension.

Good times indeed.

I do think Archie is much better.

I’m just saying don’t jump the gun on archie yet. He still has plenty to prove for being IU’s coach. And I believe he will.
You have this one bookmarked for when Archie gets this turned around so you can claim you knew he could fix the Crean mess left behind?

Glass will be doing no more hiring or extending of IU coaches if Archie flames out. Trust me.

It was not a very small minority.
I remember what I remember. And what I remember is I was about as lukewarm on Crean as Arch. I also remember Crean's first 2 years as horrific and them finally quitting on him. After that year, I was certain he'd be canned and we'd get Brad Stevens as we should have, but no, we'd get VO and Cody and they bought him another 6 years of shit show.

That’s not what most IU fans were saying.

They were saying the Butler runs were flukes. Tom Crean took Marquette to the Final Four. He’s better than Calipari. We’ll never be lucky enough to get another coach as good as Crean. Blah blah blah
