If anyone is watching, Schwarber has gone yard 2 times tonight so far! Dude is absolutely clutch in the playoffs! If he ends up winning another WS, should he be considered one of the IU greats in history of pro athletes? Isaiah/George McGinnis of course is up there, Spitz/Lilly King for Olympics comes to mind. But which would have had/has the best pro career as far as championships?

He got hot at the right time of the season for the Phillies, and he has now hit three HRs in the last two playoff games. He has hit the most career leadoff home runs (4) in postseason history according to another posting.

Yes, if he keeps it up in the post season, year after year, he may become the new Mr. October.

Not bad for a guy who hit sub .200 this year.
Yes. He hit .197 during the regular season, but was second on the team in RBIs at 104 with Nick Castellanos leading the team with 106 RBIs, and as we all know, his 47 homers on the season were easily tops in that category. He also led the Phillies in games played at 160 games.

47 HR, 104 RBI is big time … HR total was 2nd in MLB …

Schwarber had another good night at the plate tonight going 2 for 3 at the plate and hitting another homer and scoring two runs. Arizona came from behind to win the game with three runs in the 8th to tie the series. The other former Hoosier in the game didn't have a very good night. Saalfrank had his second straight bad outing out of the pen tonight with all kinds of control problems. His numbers were 0.1 IP, 1 hit and 1 ER, 3 BBs, and a WP.

Turned on the game tonight right as someone hit a nomb (schwarbs)… turned last night’s game and Saalfrank was pitching to Schwarbs (sort of)… must be an IU thing!

The Diamondbacks tied the series tonight at 3-3. Schwarber was 0 for 2 at the plate with two walks and one K. Saalfrank had a better outing tonight and came out of the bullpen with one out in the 7th and one on, and threw 6 pitches in getting the last two outs of the inning.

These have been 2 great LCS. Looking forward to game 7 and whoever makes the Fall Classic.

Saalfrank-pretty impressive stepping into that pressure cooker. Made Ft. Wayne proud!

Well, Saalfrank's season continues while Schwarber's season is over with. Schwarber went 1 for 3 with a double, one BB, and he K'd twice. Saalfrank had control issues again, but didn't give up any runs. His numbers were 0.1 IP, no runs, one K, and two BBs.

It's pretty phenomenal what Saalfrank has done. Making it to the WS is incredible enough, but becoming a trusted reliever almost immediately after getting the call is quite another. I remember him being lights out at IU about every 3rd game. His stuff is nasty, but his control has always been iffy.

Yes, he has been effective enough that the Diamondbacks have no qualms about bringing him out of the bullpen when needed. As you pointed out, he has had some control issues, but it's not to the point where he's buried in the bullpen.

After being called up late in the season to beef up the bullpen, Saalfrank showed enough to probably grab a roster spot for next season. That is unless he's part of a trade package during the off-season.
