Shorten the Bench

Thankfully Woody didn’t listen to all the clowns on here calling for him to play reserves like Lander, Leal, and Bates over our starters. Great game tonight from XJ, Stewart, and Kopp. Hopefully he shortens the bench the rest of the way. I’d love to see us go 6-7 deep for the most part.

Seems he was trying to get a few guys going, and it almost bit us in the butt. Of course you don’t expect Minny to hit so many insane shots that last 8 mins, but I think maybe it was a little early to go so long with a second lineup. Especially on the road and given this teams history. Still got the W. Big road win.

We need every player on that bench to be healthy and ready. We have a starter and one rotational player out and one rotational player just ramping back up.

Kopp was ok tonight, but he is not the answer. Need to keep playing Tamar to get him going defensively. JG is cash off the bench. PStew can back up Trey once he comes back.

You can’t play Bates late in the game, and I still hope things click for Geronimo. He’s great for a dunk/block once in a while, but is lost in general most of the time. The obvious fouls followed by complaining kill momentum like nothing else.

Other teams start cooking when these guys are on the floor.

I realize he only played 13 minutes, but those minutes were highly productive. I know what you mean in the defense lapses, but do not recall any during tonight’s game.

Hey man. He scored 10 pts in 13 minutes. third most points on the team and more than Parker or Race. If you want to rag on him because of two missed defensive assignments, go be for it. But I will take what he gave tonight every night. He played great in the limited action he had.

Fine. Any offense is good offense, especially for this team.

I don't agree with shortening the bench. Maybe Leal and Lander are out when all is healthy but maybe a better mix of players. I never liked when Woody went with the entire second unit as a rotation. IMO, Race, Trace and Trey when he returns should play big minutes. Kopp has only had a couple of nice game while Parker has been more consistent. Trey should start over Kopp, IMO. Bates, Rob, Kopp, and JG should all play. Durr, maybe in case of foul trouble to RACE/Trace.

I'd also say X should get big minutes but only when Rob is out. When rob is playing well like before he got hurt those 2 could almost go 50/50 on minutes. Lander should only get minutes if 2 of Trey, rob, and X are not playing. I prefer Lander over Parker as a PG when you have to go that deep.

He didn’t have a choice in some of those games. Agree that the starters should resume minutes with 3-5?off the bench. JG, Rob, trey and Bates is getting better. will need Durr too. We aren’t going just 6-7 deep. We were playing our best with those guys playing healthy. Your take int exactly truthfull in intent. It’s another way of trying to point fingers to shame.
